This Cop was in West Yorkshire.

Both my Sister & Brother (both now sadly deceased) were caught doing 34 in a 30 in South Yorkshire. My Brother did a speed awareness course, my sister got a straight fine & points. So, not a great deal of consistency there, other than sod all allowance for speedo discrepancy.

So,

it’s now 3 weeks since I went past this constable pointing his thing at me at the side of the road, & I still haven’t had anything through the post.

I take it that he was either asleep, or the brakes on my GT200 took me down from 41 to 28 so quickly he couldn’t get an accurate reading :eusa-think:

(Or maybe Mick’s photo worked  )

Hey there is nothing more pleasing than NOT getting that speeding fine you were expecting. It just makes you feel all good inside, and yes I have had this feeling. the last time I was stuck behind a Sunday driver on my way home from work, at the first SAFE place I went in for the overtake - you guessed it, the fun Police were there with their ***** camera van. What could i do? if I carried on definate fine, so I slowed down whilst on the wrong side of the road.... to 63mph since the tw*t at the side of me thought it a good idea to speed up ( why do they do that? ) anyway being a Sunday driver he also must of been sh*t scared of getting a fine also and my 63mph was just enough to creep in front and pull in, though when I went for the overtake, I must of been doing well over the limit, good job my reflexes are still ok. Anyway for whatever reason ( wrong side of road and camera fixed on the other side - maybe ? ) who cares but I didn't get a ticket. By the way, this is one of only three ( all of which plod sits at ) places that you can SAFELY overtake with good vision of the road ahead, and to my knowledge and I've been going down that road for the last 18 years - no accidents !!

Glad for you Pete.

I just had a really worrying thought,

I get on really well with our postman, and he usually stops & has a chat (cos I’m always outside washing my car :eusa-whistle: )
I was telling him about the cop at the bottom of the hill & he said he would keep an eye out for any fine & bin it if he saw one :wtf:

I assumed he was joking :eusa-think:

Thought it was 28 days to issue a ticket or has law changed?

No, actually, I did a quick google & it said 14 days, so hopefully that’s correct :eusa-shhh:

They don't p1$$ about over here with all the delay.
Either the sods take it straight from your bank account, as my son-in-law found out, or you get the fine on the spot and pay half within a week at the bank or it is the full amount increasing over time if you don't.
Good thing about an EU card licence (normal Swansea issue now) is that it is at odds with the Spanish system for points.
Here, you get a number of points credit, which goes up if you have had a licence for a while and not been naughty.
Points are deducted for infringements until BINGO you hit zero then you are off the road for some period (forget how long) then a retest.
So, I don't do points, good, eh?
Hundred beans (Euros) a go, fifty if you pay up pronto.
Not saying how I have done! :eusa-shhh:
