Don't nice comments, from total strangers, help make your day

Leaving work at lunch time, I was walking up to my car, which incidentally is parked in a church car park (we have an agreement with them and tops up church funds. We also get to repent our sins at the end of each day ). My car is always parked in the very last space and it's much wider than all the others, hence why it's become my space.

Anyway, walking up to my car, blipped the fob to unlock the car and I saw a young lady who was talking on her mobile, on the other side of the fence. As I opened the door, the young lady shouted to me "you've got a lovely car. It's gorgeous".

I gave her the thumbs up and smiled knowingly

I had a more funny moment yesterday.

I had to stop at a red traffic light when two lads crossed the street.

One was completely into his mobile, but the other one looked secretly sideways on my car, turned his head slightly to find out what it is, turned around a bit more to have a closer look (remember that I have a black badge on a black car), looked directly on my car, stopped, his friend bumped into him, they both almost fell, looked up into the car and saw me laughing :lol:

Both blushed and gave me 2 thumbs up, smiling all over the face.

I dont drive the RCZ alot so my wife gets all the comments LOL This weekend I drove it and there were to small kids playing in the estate where we live. As we came around the corner (in the estate going about 15kph) the one shouted to the other one: : "Look look!!!"

As we got closer the two kids just stood there with their mouths open and as the RCZ got next to them the other one went: "Woooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL! I thought that was rather cute.

I love the randow comment made at petrol stations/shops saying exactly the same as you Kerry. Bet BMW/Audi drivers don't get that in their "10 a penny" cars. Makes me smile. Good ol' Pug. Gonna miss those comments when she goes.....

Often when I'm washing the car, people will stop and pass comment on the RCZ (we live on a main road in and out of a village, so there are lots of people walking and driving by). Apart from the usual "do you want to do mine next" they usually say mention how shiny it looks or what a lovely car it is.

It does make it all worthwhile

Yes it does!

I was driving back into town on the local dual carriageway recently when a woman passed me in her Audi A4 S Line drop top, with the hood down.
Next thing I know she's slammed on the anchors and plus back along side me so that her son, in the passenger seat, can take a few pics of the RCZ on his mobile.

Made me laugh out loud, tho his mum looked less than impressed! ;-)

When picking up my RCZ from the service yesterday after having an engine heater installed the woman whom i payed the bill to get the car went "oh it's you who drives this car! I must say i'm a bit envious of you, i want one too"

Naturally i said "thank you, yeah you're not the only one who is" :lol:

Saw my first Moroccan Red RCZ in Aberdeen yesterday. Looks great but think I prefer it with the black arches than the silver ones. Also spotted a new black one with champagne arches...don't want to say too much about this...but..erm...not for me.

I agree Mr Rizz about the black arches on Moroccan red. They just go well together. The chrome ones don't somehow look right. Can't put my finger on it. Apologies to anyone who has chrome on their red. It's just my personal preference [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

BTW, Mr Rizz was it sunny or overcast when you saw the Moroccan red? It makes such a difference when you see it in the sun [THUMBS UP SIGN]

I'm being rather guarded in my comments also but I can tell that we concur.

Aberdeen...sunny....in October?! I wish!! :lol: I think, from looking at it while following for some time, that it's a colour like the flipper blue that takes an entirely different appearance in different lights. They're RCZ chameleons! :thumbup: Would love to see it on a nice day!

Got the rcz 8 months after it was introduced Comments by the dozen but the one question l hated answering was 'what size of engine has it got'.....response is that all...couldn't live with a car that just got nice comments beauty is only skin deep.

In the real world of motoring, driving A and B roads, motorways, and towns/cities, how fast a car goes from 0-62mph, makes no difference whatsoever ! The only time it matters or comes to the fore is on a track.

What is the point of having x amount of bhp when you can't use it? On ever increasing speed restricted roads, it's just pointless.
All you are asking for is points on your licence.

If I see a car I like then I don't even think about how fast it will go. It's the looks I go for primarily in a car.
Having said that, the RCZ is hardly a slouch. I now make regular 80 mile round trips, 3 times a week (non motorway). There's plenty enough power, even in the 156 THP, to safely overtake when a gap presents itself. Even the poise of the RCZ on bends is enough to make drivers of so called faster cars wonder "how did they do that"? The torque of my Z in 3rd gear is phenomenal (which I put down to Shell V Power) and regularly leaves cars for dead on a particular nice bit of dual carriageway. In the real world, 7.9 seconds or 6 seconds means nothing and is more down to driver ability than the car itself.
