Yep. Your pedals are normal and you'll soon become accustomed to them. Sounds like you may have a charcoal grey but I may get corrected on this. Enjoy the car and this forum.

They are the best looking car in the price range by a mile  They hold the road as if on rails and so are great fun to drive. My MPG is amazing  Low tax too. You do become accustomed to the "harsh ride" and road noise. The latter is greatly helped by use of the amazing sound system

Welcome to the forum

These are "characteristics" of the RCZ, which you will no doubt get used to :)

Please post some photos of your car, if you get chance :)

Welcome!!! I never notice any road noise as I can only hear the stereo! Lol

The way the car handles round corners is amazing, people look at me like I'm nuts when I whizz past on the inside of a corner on a slip road!

You will get used to the pedals, my thigh was killing me with that clutch for the first couple of months driving in Lindon traffic! It's all good now!

Be sure to park it miles from anyone in a car park and get used to the "nice car" comments

Hi lewy60, I too bought my RCZ and then thought what have I done! I've now had it eight months / 8000 miles and can honestly say that although the unforgiving ride and the amount of road noise are not my favorite aspects of the RCZ I have now got used to them and overall the RCZ ownership experience has many more positives than negatives.

With regard to the road noise I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has changed from the standard Continentals to anything else as I suspect that tyre noise is the main problem. When the time comes to replace tyres I will definitely try something else - Vredestein are currently top of my list due to their claimed quieter performance.

yes, im 50/50 at the moment, having come out of a merc it seems a bit rattly and bumpy, but i suppose they are two different type of car, i love the fuel side of it, i havnt made a second visit to the pumps and i have had it since friday!!i have had a lot of micky taking off friends asking if i can fit them in for a cut and blow!!ninety percent of which are driving things that you would rather catch a bus so green eyed springs to mind, hopefully it will be as pleasing to drive as it is to the eye.

I have had 3 cars with 19" alloys and they all suffered from higher than normal levels of road noise compared to cars with even 18" alloys and also remember its a Peugeot with not too much sound insulation from the road.

I dont find it much of a problem, also test drove an rcz with 18's and bought one with 19's the difference in handling is massive in favour of the 19' s

I'm surprised to hear this. I don't mean this to sound rude but did you test drive the car first? The ride on the RCZ with 19ins alloys is...erm..."firm"...there can be no denying of that but then you're comparing it to your Merc which is built for comfort (unless you have an AMG version). The Ka probably is a softer ride. My wife's Fiat 500 is too but I certainly wouldn't say that it "drives much better". It's just more comfortable on our pot hole filled roads. You have to bear in mind the tyre profile and the size of alloy. Both of these are going to provide a firm ride with fair amounts of road noise. Be interested to learn what you decide but sorry to hear you feel this way.

Stange normally cars handle better with 18's My honda TYPE R did when i swapped over from 19's to 18's but saying that the rcz wheel arches are huge, so aesthetically speaking they look better.

As i have always said.....What one's opinion of the rcz in the handling dept :eusa-think: depends on what you have owned before,I WAS ALWAYS FRUSTRATED by its handling especially the steering as it seemed void of any feeling never trusted it in fast bends/corners....uninspiring sums it up,the gear change was fine..good actually  but there was no hint of it being a drivers car......no matter the bhp.A few owners have jumped over to the 208 GTI and they love it.

Hope you find piece of mind whatever you choose

Just wondering if the rattle and vibrating could be down to the engine mount issues some members suffered?

I'll second that. A hard ride on poor roads is normal for the RCZ but rattles and vibrations aren't. Definitely worth getting it checked in the first instance.
