Hello there from New Zealand. I have been looking for an RCZ here for about a year, finally purchased one last week  2000cc diesel, 2010, 32000miles on the clock.

Went for a run today to Akaroa (were the French first landed in NZ). After lunch jumped in for the return run and when I
tried to start the car, "STOP" warning light came on (key in position 2) this then went out after a few seconds ?????.
I noticed that the "glow" light did not come on. do you think that this is the problem? or something that requires further investigation.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Love the car, cannot believe the economy, very rare over here, attracts a lot of attention

I don't know why the warning light came on, but you very rarely see that glow light illuminated on the RCZ. Thee temperature has to be very low for the glow light to be activated. I would "let it develop" and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply, leaving the key in position 2 until the light goes out and the car starts ok but going straight
to starting and it struggles (2 or 3 attempts)

On HDI engines (basically any common rail diesel) the only time you need the glow plugs is when the temperature drops below 0°C.
Other than that the only example I can think of is if you have lost some compression.

Once car is started, no signs of loss of power, no other warning lights or messages. I have been through the handbook
and all I can find is

"when ignition is switched on, certain warning lights come on for a few seconds. When the engine is started these warning lights should switch off. (this is what is happening, apart from the "STOP" lighting up) if they remain on before setting off, consult the information on the warning lamp concerned". Really appreciating your help
