Hello Everyone,

Many thanks for the welcome messages, they're much appreciated.

I've tried uploading a pic of my car but keep getting the message "The image file you tried to attach is invalid."

I've used my iPhone 5 to take my pic, any advice or am I missing something obvious? :helpme:

I think the specs for models sold here in Ireland may have been different to those sold in the UK.

My RCZ is a 2.0 HDi Sport with 163bhp; one previous owner with 28000 miles on the clock; bought from a Peugeot Main Dealer so I have a full one year guarantee.

The specs I have are:
18 Alloys, ABS Brakes, Air Conditioning/ Duel Climate Control, Remote Central Locking, Alarm/ Immobiliser, Bluetooth, CD Player, Centre Armrest, Cruise Control/ Max Speed Limiter, Electric Folding Mirrors, Full Leather Upholstery, Electric heated Sports Seats with 2 memory settings, Electric Windows, Folding rear seat, Isofix, Metallic Paint, Multiple Air Bags, Front & Rear Parking Sensors, Power Steering, Rain Sensors, Automatic Lights, Rear Spoiler, Side Impact Protection, Six speed transmission, Traction Control.

How have you found the car? Hopefully picking up one myself next week from the UK and bringing it back to Dublin .2010 model with the same engine as yourself. 40000 miles. I am hoping I'm making the right decision.

Right now, that's a question I cannot completely answer as my car is back with the Peugeot Dealer for the 3rd time because of a speed wobble in the steering wheel between 120 & 130 KPH; this after having 2 new front tyres fitted and the wheels balanced by the main dealer and a separate tyre supplier. Interestingly, the tyre supplier noticed that the clearance on the FRS between the shock absorber "saucer" and the tyre was less than the width on my small finger while the clearance on the FLS was more than the flat of my hand. The Dealer could not explain why there was a difference in the clearances and as a result is fitting 2 new shocks although they do not think the shocks are the cause of my speed wobble problem. Time will tell.
In fairness to the Dealer, they have not complained and appear to be doing their best to sort the out problems and all under warranty.
The point of my long preamble being that you won't be able to take your car back to the seller very easily so that unless you are able to carry out repairs yourself, you must have the car thoroughly checked out by a reliable mechanic. Even then, budget for some running repairs when you get the car to Ireland. Apologies if that's stressing the obvious.
Now about the car itself, it's fine and I have received plenty of complements on its looks. The acceleration in 2nd & 3rd gear is particularly impressive which is probably the way you can best enjoy the car in Ireland because of our restrictive speed limits. The suspension is harder than I expected but I am lucky that the roads where I live in Kildare are pretty good with motorways all very near and accessible. If you live in an area where the road surfaces are poor, where there are a lot of speed ramps or your daily commute to work is bumpy: avoid buying the RCZ.
I've come from a 4 door car to the RCZ and one unexpected "issue" is getting in and out of the car in my driveway. I have a narrow driveway and had not considered this when buying the car. It's manageable but a bit awkward.
Finally, check that everything and I mean every single think is working as it should be from each LED bulb in the centre brake light too hooking up your phone to the Bluetooth too the heating in the driver & passenger seats.
Good luck with your purchase and post some photos if and when you buy.

Thanks so much for the information etc,I will make sure the mechanic checks everything. It's so easy to keep reading all the bad reviews with problems etc that it actually puts you off the car.Hope you get your own car sorted soon,at least it was under warranty. I work in newbridge myself so if you see a white one around the Kildare area over the next few weeks, you will know the mechanical inspection went ok.
Cheers.

some good advice there. as soon as that boat departs liverpool/holyhead or wherever, your warranty aint worth diddly squat! however, the reliability issues surrounding the hdi really are minimal. the RCZ is very wide and runs on 19's so narrow roads can be hairy and the ride on those 19's can be harsh also the 235/40/19's are a very specialist tyre size and you will not find any tyre supplier in ireland who stocks them. they have to be specially ordered and they are not cheap. Michelin Pilot Super Sports are €250 each. And because the HDI is a heavy beast of an engine you won't get much more than 12k miles out of the front tyres.
