Hi Guys & Girls.

Looking forward in picking up my RCZ later on this week.
Went into a local dealership just to have a look about, and ended up ordering a second hand one after taking a managers car out for a spin.

Coming from an Astra VXR for a few years, i'm looking forward to driving this RCZ about.
It's a Black one on a 12 plate, minimal miles, and it's got very sexy black alloys to suit.
Oh and its an Automatic (so go easy on me).

Astra VXR to Auto RCZ...my...you have mellowed. ;) Only jesting!! Both fine cars and two excellent choices.

I am the aforementioned mod (ruthlessly attacked by Donna...but then she has moved from her RCZ to a MINI  so she's hardly worth listing to ;) )who has recently stepped into an Astra VXR (the J though rather than the H which is what I'm assuming you had).

I think you'll certainly enjoy your ownership experience and the attention that the RCZ draws. You probably won't miss everyone on the roads apparently wanting to race you because you have a VXR badge on your car. You'll still get the odd numpty trying it though.

Enjoy the car and we'd love to see some pics if you're willing to share. Any plans for any mods or personalisation of the RCZ?

Thank you for the welcome comments, they are much appreciated. Feels like i've become a member of a secret club. :)

Yeah the good old VXR was a H on a 57 plate (but on a private plate), and it was the nice Arden Blue.
It's served me well, and as much as i like how quick it was, 80k on the clock, and starting to spend money on it, kind of swayed me away to look at something else.

I've still not seen any RCZ's on the road as such in this area, and the only ones i've seen have been on a forecourt.

I pick mine up tomorrow at around 5.30pm onwards, and i can already sense that i will have a huge smile on my face.

The dealer has serviced it apparently and also fitted a new battery, not sure why but hey.
Its a 12 plate Nera black, with the black alloys and silver door/roof trim arches and i know its the GT Automatic.

I'm not sure about any modifications as yet but i might have a look at doing the brake callipers in black eventually, and maybe looking at changing the head unit for a aftermarket head unit with sat nav etc, but not sure about costs and compatibility as yet.

What do people pay for insurance on the RCZ's and which company's do you use?
Also has anybody got any tips/advice etc for driving these things or is it a case of keep quiet and enjoy the ride?
Does anybody have the original spec sheets for these 2012 versions as i want to find out what was fitted.

Dean

Well i've picked it up and i love it.
Not keen on the little marks on the alloy roof bars, but i'm sure they will come out.
Usual second hand car little niggles, little scratches here and there but its expected, as its not a new one.
Little projects to sort. ;-)

Hi Dean,
Glad you are enjoying your new steed!
I pay around £250, fully comp with protected no claims discount, but I am old!
I did the same thing, went to get my alfa serviced and a beautiful asphalt caught my eye......the rest is history.

:greetings-wavingblue: Hello...

I went through Hastings Direct, and after adding protected NCD and reducing excess to £150 I paid £197 but I too am old (56)
I have only had mine for 3 days, but I am already thinking it is probably the best car I will ever own. I am in love :auto-car:
Anyway enjoy :text-welcomewave:
