Shell V Power or similar was my immediate thought, but concluded that your problems/experiences were perhaps too great for it to be simply down to poor/low grade fuel. Not sure what effect turning off traction control will have on this issue though :eusa-think:

I stopped in Esso the other day, by necessity rather than choice and their premium fuel only has an octane rating of 97! Perhaps "interestingly", I contacted a remapping company and they explicitly stated that you use either V Power Nitro or Tesco Momentum. Ok...it's a different car but i thought it funny that the other "big" fuel suppliers didn't get a mention.

i am having car checked @ garage today but its mini garage so mite not have the same diagnostic that is needed .... BUT BUT. i have put in the shell v power nitro and unbelievable YES YES unbelievable i have not had the problem for 2 days and i have done loads of quick pulling away in 1st gear and i normally always get the fault,,, but now the car is pulling away @ speed everytime . can it really by just switching to shell v power nitro make ALL the diferrance i am shocked if it does , anyway ....maybe the ecu unit detects the high octane petrol and adjust accordingly ... can anyone say they think this is possible?? i will only ever use shell v power from now:)

Yes it is possible and yes V Power does help enormously :)

It's true the ECU will adjust to the better fuel and it does effect performance too. However your experiences seemed rather extreme to all be down to the fuel. IMO

Result!!! sales manager at mini cooper road tested my car with me . i told him the story and he said Yes the v power petrol can make all the differance.so he road tested with me and he was impressed with the performance, in fact he said its better than his mini cooper super charged mini he drives...he said the power band is nice and smooth and constant..and he mentioned something bout feeling dyno valve or some valve anyway kicking in . i asked him to really give it some, he accelerated upto to 5rpm revs gave it a good go . his verdict impressive performance!! smooth and constant power!! no problems at all . he says it will be set up best for v power type fuel and to keep using it....and he said its was nice to drive an rcz ...:) happy days.......

Esso always props up the "fuels premier league" when it comes to "premium fuel"
