New with an R

Hello everyone,

I've had an RCZ-R for about three weeks now, low mileage one that I brought privately, car was absolutely immaculate bar one little issue which I'm told is very common on the lot of them. I was researching on this forum a lot in the run up to eventually testing a couple out and purchasing the one that stole my heart, and I'm very grateful to everyone here for all the knowledge and experience posted across the threads, it was a massive help in what to look for. Would be missing out if I didn't sign up and join in!



I can't stop peeking at it every chance I get, what a machine she is, have been very vigilant on the oil level as people here recommend, new spark plugs went straight in, will have a full set of new Asymmetric 6s fitted to her next week so plenty to look forward to (fortunately the place does have a ramp for fitting). Incidentally does anyone know of any decent fabricators around Greater Manchester/Lancashire they could recommend? Sadly the one caveat is the driver side front jacking point has been bent and split so that'll need fixing before the winter! Much obliged!

Thank you, it's already the beginning of a passionate affair lol I've probably bored everyone around me senseless raving about the car.

I probably didn't word that very well but the common issue I refer to is the jacking points being very weak and one of mine needing fixing, I'm all ears if anyone has a recommendation!

Get some extra strengthening support welded on.

I've heard a lot about them being a nuisance. Yeah, they look feeble.
Strangely I never had any issues with them. I did lift my R a lot during the year (wheel change, brake system maintenance, detailing, etc.). Maybe I had no issues cause I always lifted her on an even concrete plate with a car jack equipped with rollers.

Hi Frognaught, car looks great. Had mine since jan 2021 and still love it. Never had any problems with jacking point as never jacked it up but have seen the underneath on mine every year its been in for MOT and not had any problems.

My 200 is the only car I've ever owned with chocolate jacking points but a decent welder with access to a ramp will sort it out
