So when i get my focus back from a the bodyshop, what prep do i have to do, prior to applying this gear :eusa-think:

If you are having panels painted then you have to wait 6 weeks I think it is before waxing/sealing.

Once that time has passed, then
wash,
decontaminate the car fully,
polish
Panel wipe down
Apply EXO according to instructions (as per link in earlier post) x 2 coats

is it advisable to use the panel wipe on the plastics and glass or will the exo be ok on top of glass cleaner ..

I would use it on the plastics but not on the glass. EXO will go on fine over glass cleaner.

You mention above RCZ1 that if the car is being painted you should wait 6 weeks before sealing. Surely the same applies for a new car also? I am getting geared up to do full detail within days of collection?

I think in factories where the cars are made, the process is a little different.

For cars which have had parts resprayed then it depends on the process used by the body shop as follows

"as a rule of thumb, for oven baked cars 6 weeks and for cars cured using heaters 12 weeks plus" it's to allow the solvents in the paint to breathe. When you pick up a new car, you can't smell the solvents in the paint can you?

I finally got round to using original Gtechniq EXO

I just checked over at the German car detailing forum where they put it on different cars, and even the experienced detailers seem quite impressed by the results.

The new V2 version is available here as well and people want to try it during the next weeks.

I'll report back if someone is interested.

...Applied it to paint, glass, exhaust trims and alloys.

Would you mind asking her how it behaves when the wipers are used in rain?

So far all products I've tested which could be used for both paint AND windscreen had some problems in heavy rain + darkness, visibility was good.

I would love to have just one product for everything...

Well we had some rain this week and my sister has reported that the rain ran off the windscreen very well and that she did not have any smearing.

I've not personally witnessed it but this is what she told me.

I did power wash her car down today. Blimey, the water barely touches the car. It sheets like I've never seen anything else sheet water before. It certainly is impressive stuff, EXO
