New RCZ R owner

Hello Everyone,

I joined the forum on Saturday but wanted to wait until I had taken delivery of my car before I said hello. I bought a 63 plate R with 10K miles. Apart from the test driven I've taken out out for half an hour so far.

As a point of intereste I traded in my TT roadster for the Z. I'd had it from new, done 105K miles and loved it but time moves on and when the Windows stop shutting its time to chop it in.

More than happy this afternoon, car looks amazing and I've ordered a snow foam lance to try and keep it looking good.

Cheers,

Colin.

Welcome along. The car looks super nice and at least you managed to get a pic of it before the inevitable rain returns!

Hi Pete,

I'm in Oaklands so just a stones through from WGC. I'll be bringing the car down to Hatfield for servicing (that's all I hope). Do you take yours there?

Colin.

Curious indeed - I'm in Ellenbrook and, yes, I use Spire. They're pretty good. I'm now on first name terms with many of them.

So, if you see a Morrican Red R, give a flash and a wave (Oo-err!) - it's probably me!

Also happy to help with any questions you might have. I've had my R 18 months from new and had a GT200 for 3 years from new before that. Obviously, I don't know everything but I'll help where I can, if needed.

Hi Pete,

I do have a question which I'm really stumped on. I thought all R's had heated seats but I can't find any switch. I looked on the forum and there are a number of threads about how people were convinced they reset themselves, etc.

In all cars with heated seats I've ever driven the switch is in the middle, near the aircon but from what I read that's not the case. So where is the switch? I've looked everywhere so I now don't think I have heated seats.

Colin.

Hi Colin, welcome to the great world of R ownership :)

I'm afraid the R does not have heated seats. However with be seats being half alcantera and leather, they don't get noticeably cold. Or maybe it's just me - I have a very warm behind ;)

I have seen an R advertised, and on the spec list was heated seats, so unless it was an error, it must have been an option at some stage.

If you do have them, you'll find the switch on the side of the seat - at the bottom just where you can catch it with your leg turning it off as you climb in and out of the car - hence the thread you have seen.

I seem to remember seeing one R with heated seats most probably from abroad but the guys are right - there are probably no UK spec cars with heated seats. It wasn't an option!

If it was advertised in the UK it was probably incorrect. Most of the ads I've seen RCZs advertised are incorrect in many ways. They tend to use generic listings which in reality, bear no resemblance to the actual car.

If the R had specified leather seats, like on most other RCZs, then it's probable that those may be heated. Not the standard alcantera / leather seats.

I have seen the R with the Z seats here in Sweden. One is for sale at the moment and yes it's a R but not with the newer seats (which I thought was standard seats on all R) Those probably are heated.

And btw, there has been no snow too mention in my parts for five years. Only Rain, more rain, winds, clouds and more rain... God the weather sucks bigtime!

Well I'm not a big fan of snow either but it sure does add some light to this dark period of year.
Been enjoying the 206 Rc for a few weeks though. Love the longer gears and it's really quick on bendy roads and around town. Not a bad substitude for the Z... Not bad at all :D
Only missing a 6th gear and It would be one of the best hot hatches.
