I doubt any future development will look anywhere near as good as the Z. They will probably concentrate on making some hatch look a bit sportier and quicker than the standard supermarket-run model.

I wasn't interested in buying a Pug until the Z came along, although in my previous life, I did have a 309 & a 405.

I doubt very much that I will be buying another Pug once the Z has gone, so I intend keeping this one as long as I can. :eusa-think:

True, from what I know there will be a 500bhp 308 hybrid. Won't look anywhere as good though.

Thanks, enjoying it so far. I wasn't sure about high speed handling after my lump of a 406 coupe which sat very well on the motorway, however no complaints. Better, no surprise really.

Welcome to the R club :)
Enjoy this terrific car. I do since over 25.000 miles.

Few tips & tricks:
- it takes for the engine to break free. In my case it took up to 15.000 miles before the full potential&power of the engine emerged. Now it runs like stupid into the limiter at 157mph. In general, Pug shall hand out press cars with over 15.000 for reviews.
- full consumption is not my strong side but I can drive the car at 40+ mpg. But I'd rather stay at lowish 20s :)
- tyre wear is high on the fronts when you drive fast. 12.000 miles maximum for a set of fronts
- break pad wear off is high too when you love a fast ride over the country
- exhaust sound will change over the time to more baritone, more burps and pops on the overrun
- oil consumption is near zero

There are no flaws with this car. Just enjoy it!

Agreed, some excellent and really useful information. This is what I love about proper car forums.
My last car only averaged 24 to the gallon, so am prepared for that. I was expecting the tyres to do less than that so good news.
When the pads need doing I would go for red stuff, but they only seem to do them for the rear brakes at the moment?
Have ordered a high flow and oil free pipercross air filter so shall see what that's like.

All the best, Andy.

True, I heard, and I don't know if this is correct, that they are only going to make 500 of the R's?
However if Peugeot keep up with the sport department we should hopefully have good things ahead.

PEUGEOT RCZ R THP

Tax/SORN

Quarterly number of vehicles licensed or SORN

Licensed SORN

Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4

2014 77 138 183 218 0 2 0 0

2013 0 0 0 6 0 0 0 0

So that must mean UK only if so I would guess with Q1 of 2015 we must be over half way, by the end of 2015 we could see the last one made

You're welcome!
That pipercross is a very nice add-on to the R's engine. Works well. I have it too and the biggest difference is in the upper speed region where the airflow is improved over the stock filter.
So, go for it!

Ooooh no, don't put those crappy ebc pads in there, they really are not the best quality pads out there, still seen people have issues with the material coming away from the back plate  and that's their new ones!!

If you are going to replace the pads on the RCZ R then I would recommend Pagid, not cheap but that's what Alcon use with their kits, looking at around £300+ for the fronts.

I've fitted a K&N filter to my R. The difference it makes is enormous and agree with the improved power delivery at higher speeds.

Looking forward to the new filter then and thanks for the advice on the pads.
I had red stuff on my old car and found them pretty good. Al though one of the rears was separating when I changed them, thought it was just a one off.
Can't really justify the £300 on a pair of break pads as the ones on there are pretty decent to be fair.
Might look at the black Diamond ones, what do you think?

Hi,

I did notice they were selling them yes but was going to stick with red stuff.
Have you got the black Diamond pads and what do you reckon?
