New RCZ Owner

Hi all

Im from Portugal, last week I just buy a 156 RCZ in Germany, and drive 2500kms back to Portugal in the car was a pleasure. But now sadly think I find the first problem, the car sometimes in first start do a really loud noise on motor, and the first minutes of drive I think he slows down a little in the revs, the problem must be time chain right?

Im really sad because im loving the car, and first thing happens this, the Germany dealer from where I buy the car gives 3 year warranty but obviously I forget the warranty when I know Im import the car, I cannot do a 2500 kms drive another time to get into dealer.

Since this problem is know to all thp motors from peugeot, can I try contact Peugeot in Portugal to maybe see if they can do something? Like a discount in the parts or something, the car is a 2014 model. Anyone try resolve this problem out of warranty?

Sorry to hear about your problem :thumbdown: I would think that you may have some form of manufacturers warranty left depending on the date of first registration, if not the parts cost isn't that much really around £120 for the full timing kit - chain tensioner and guides over here in the U.K. And around £400-£500 labour costs.
The thing is I don't think we have had a forum member with the timing chain problem on a Mk2 I am right in thinking being a 2014 model it is a MK2? I believe the MK2 cars had the updated kit fitted from new.

Yes my car is the mk2, facelift model. Its from 05/2014. Maybe u have right and the problem could be another thing and not the timechain, but the noise is really loud and only on cold start, one minute and the noise gone, so when I search in the web for this kind off thing all point to timechain.

But I will go with the car to a Peugeot dealer and cross my fingers to they can help me and hope the problem was not nothing worst and more expensive like the engine

Your car still has 3 months manufacturers warranty left on it so get in to a local Peugeot dealer as soon as possible and let them fix that for free for you! :thumbup:

Each country has different warranty length.
Check what warranty length is in Germany for original manufacturer warranty and also for Portugal.
If the one in Germany is still valid Peugeot Portugal should still look at it under original warranty.

Would be very surprised if it's less than 3 years warranty on a new one but yet us know...

In Portugal I know its only 2 years, in Germany dont know but I think its the same. Will go this week to Peugeot and see what they say. Thanks to all for the help
