Hi all, my name is Rich, I'm from Gloucester, and I've just taken the plunge and bought a RCZ, I've always loved the look of them, but never thought I would own one. I got for what I think was a good price, but I'm taking a chance because it has had a replacement like for like engine. Got a few faults to sort out, and I already feel I've learnt a lot from some of your great posts. My passenger window has stopped working, it's at the top, but not in the fully closed/sealed position. It's been sat for a while after the replacement engine, and it is in eco mode, so I'm wondering if a battery charge, and a reset my cure it? Also the heads up display is temperamental, it flickers and sometimes works, then not. We seem to like these cars in Longlevens, Gloucester, as I've seen 4 others driving around in the 2 days that I've had mine. Hope maybe some of you are forum members?

Yes, economy mode just the mode to save the battery so you can start the car. If you have not used the car for awhile it normally goes to economy mode. By driving it a bit should get rid of it but it does come on quite a bit sometimes.

Re your flip up screen, it's likely it's the cable which is common issue. You can either buy one, used to be around £30, might be more now. Or can do it yourself if you have the tools, a bit fiddly but certainly possible. Think there is a post here or the FB RCZ owners group also have some posts on this.

As long as your window still works when you press the button either up and down, you may just need a soft BSI reset. Should be here somewhere or can google it. I can't remember the exact procedure.

Many thanks for the welcome, and the reply, unfortunately it looks like I'm no longer going to be a RCZ owner, it's going back tonight, as the replacement engine is overheating. 😔👍

Hi, just a quick update, I ended up getting the RCZ back again at a reduced price, I couldn't resist, at least I've got a bit more money to sort a few things out.

Worth investing in a Diagbox kit (should find one on Ebay) if you want to fix it yourself. It's a bit of a pain to set it up initially, but it's been very useful to me so far (also a new owner of a RCZ that refuses to start!). I also got the wiring diagrams for the car and after many weeks of tinkering, managed to figure out the problem (fuel sender pump burned!).
