New RCZ Owner - Door Lights

Hello all

I have just bought an RCZ in white, and love it! So far so good, but have a couple of questions -

The door lights and footwell lights are bright blue, and would like to change these to white. Can anyone advise where and what I need to order?

I have also noticed a small knocking noise coming from what sounds like the rear when pulling away from a stop. It only happens now and again, any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Laura

Hello Laura.

Congratulations and Welcome!

We have all your lighting needs for your RCZ, so you can change the blue lights for white:

http://shop.rczperformance.com/category.sc?categoryId=190

We are also about to announce 'RCZ' logo courtesy door lights. Follow us on our Facebook page for the announcement which will occur in the next few days:

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

As for the intermittent noise, no idea and because it is intermittent hard to troubleshoot. Suggest getting the car on a lift and have it checked for anything loose or stuck, and maybe a good high pressure wash underneath as well.

welcome along...

door lights, sorted.

With reference to the knocking, i recall a thread somewhere, where it was a potentially loose fuel strap/tank. Might be worth a squint in the direction..

Welcome Laura,
Sounds like the previous owner of your car has put a couple of personal touches to the interior lighting have you looked in the boot where the tyre compressor is there is quite a bit of storage there and you never know the previous owner may have left the original bulbs there :eusa-think:

As for the knock if you bought from a dealer let them check it out for you. Sometimes if the cars parked up and the brakes have been wet eg. You recently washed it the rear pads can stick slightly when setting off this can sound like a slight knock?

Good luck with your car and post us some pics of your pride and joy

Congratulations and welcome :greetings-wavingblue:

sometimes the handbrake can be slow to disengage the rear wheel and as you pull off you will hear a knock/squeak as you pull away so it is perfectly normal. nothing to worry about.

Hi again all, thanks for the replies. This is my new car -

Ill get some bulbs ordered up.

The knocking noise seems more like something rocking, or loose, rather than brakes sticking. Could there be a mount gone somewhere?

Looks great :)

Check within the boot and underneath the carpet that there isn't something loose rattling around. There a a few items in the rear under the car so again up on a lift and have a feel around for anything loose.

We look forward to your order :)

Car looks great, but I would definitely be speaking with the dealership and making a few noises of my own if I was parting with that kind of cash :eusa-think:

I'm experiencing the same thing, BUT the noise is coming from the front. Really weird, as just happens when in 1st and 2nd gears, but as soon the car gets some speed, it's very hard to notice anything. More anoying is the fact that I guess people can hear when I'm driving by, not admiring looks, but concerned, I must say.
The car is booked for tomorrow (oil leaking top and front of engine) and will mention the noise too.

Thanks again everyone, would you mind specifying which bulbs I need? What is the difference between 6000 and 8000?

Problem I have is the dealership is a 3 hour round trip so I am hoping it is somwthing minor. The jack etc idea is a good one thanks!

The 6000 (6K) bulbs are a true white where as 8000 (8K) have some blue in them and so not as bright but really cool looking.

Quick update: the oil was from the turbo, all parts changed (bill suppose to be 170 + 70 from inspection, covered under extended warranty, except the inspection fee, which was kindly knocked to 51), seems to be solved. About the noise, still. They couldn't spot anything wrong. All seems to be correct: suspension/engine mounts. Paying more attention, the sound is similar to when releasing the handbrake or the hill assistance. I expect to hear the noise when leaving stationary, fair enough, but the noise still occuring when moving. Stops when reaching certain speed, or I can't hear aynmore. Would be good hear if anyone is familiar with that, as no one better than regular Z's drivers.
Other thing was how hard was to select gears. When at certain speed, was really hard to select 2nd or 3rd. And in movement, as low as 5mph, impossible to select the 1st gear. Always had to select one gear over the ideal, and the car moving like a tractor. Seems like something was done this time, as the car is soft as butter. Really happy.
Feedback for the dealer: A-.
Was a big improvement over all previous visits. The only thing knocking from a perfect visit was the fact that the air make-up chamber was properly fitted, just one side down it's "rail" and the top lid also attached just from 1 side. Just wondering how they manage to perform such "gran finale". Hope the other important stuff where I can't see were well executed. Fingers crossed.

I had a knocking / clunk from the front, turned out to be the top suspension mounts, which were replaced as there was a notice from Peugeot to replace them with a modified part, which was all done foc. (Car was still under warranty anyway).

Sorry to jump in late, I'll be at the meet today and have a few spare white bulbs. They're just the 501 type and very easy to replace.

Andy.

Thanks again all.

I'll order some bulbs this week!

I had a look into the boot and found the tyre foam can, so have secured it.. Will report back if that was the issue.

Another quick question.. How high is the clutch biting point considered to be normal?
