Which is best RCZ or GT86? That's a tough question they both have pros and cons;

RCZ R v's GT86

The RCZ has much better performance.
Both look stunning but I think the 86 may look a bit nicer.
The RCZ has allot more toys and feels better built.
The 86's key-less entry system is very cool.
The 86 has a better driving position.
The RCZ has a much bigger boot.
The RCZ seems more refined.
The 86 has rear wheel drive and as amazing fun.
The 86 is £7k cheaperand has 2 years more warranty.
RCZ turbo motor is great but it nowhere near as responsive as the GT86's naturally aspirated flat four.

So there you go, they are both awesome cars in different ways be interesting to see what the GT86S is like, think that comes out this year and has the bigger 2.5L (260bhp) flat four.

I think everyone is after the report about how the GT86 compares to the RCZ R ;)

Mine is nearly a year old now, I have the pleasure of having the Toyota garage next to the Peugeot garage so get to see both cars, plus having owned turbocharged Subaru's for the last 14 years prior to my move back to Peugeot (and still owning a Subaru before cashing the lot in and buying the R), had the best of both worlds.

Reasons I didnt buy the BRZ over the RCZ, the dealers are dying out, the parts are impossible to get, the problems coming out on the BRZ... but even after that, its not a bad car though people will try to compare the 2, its hard to do.

I see you say the GT86 is more responsive, and in a way that is true, thats a Normally Asperated car for you, instant fuel injection and response, BUT that is about as far as it goes and here is why.

200bhp v 270bhp, figures never lie, ok maybe they do, lets look at the figure that actually counts, the torque.
The GT86 and BRZ produce 151lbs of torque, this doesnt reach its max and holds it until 6400-6600rpm, the down side of NA 4 pot engines, which makes the car feel gutless and you need to work the gearbox to get the best out of it, its also not a bad thing if the engine enjoys that and the GT86/BRZ were never meant to be strip cars, they were all about the out and out fun factor on the twisties.
The RCZ R on the other hand produces 243lbs from 1900rpm upto (around) 5800rpm, which makes in gear flexibility and ease of driving much nicer without having to down the gear every time you want to floor it.

Turbo v NA, well both are different to drive, turbocharged engines require you to build up boost, the easiest way to do this is down it a gear, twin scroll turbo's (as fitted to the RCZ) bring this in earlier and give you a better torque spread over single scroll units, it also makes the car more responsive but driving a turbo is completely different to an NA, once use to it you wont feel that it lacks and performs much more like a bigger cc 6 pot (or bigger) NA engine.

Anyway, hope you are having fun with your new R, they are great cars and soooooo much fun
