Just gone and got myself a RCZ and there is a couple of things I kind of need help with.

First one is that a have a button in the Center Console which I have no idea what it does and it isn't in the manual. It seems official but does nothing, wondering if anyone knows what it is??

Also there is a rattle in the dash when I place my finger on the bottom of the dash it goes away, has anyone else had this, and how best to repair?

Hello and welcome.

Not sure if that is a factory fit button so it's function is anyone's guess.

Ejector seat?
Rotating number plate?
Machine guns?
Smoke machine?

Possibly not any of the above, curious to know what it could be though

Reference the button, the only thing you can do is take the panel out and trace the wiring as it is not standard.

Easiest way to get panel out is to remove the handbrake gater.
Mine comes out with just using my fingers, by pulling the material near the corner, when the edge lifts enough to get fingers underneath, it just pops the clips.

You can then put your hand under the console feel for the tab, press inwards and upwards, the panel pops out as well.
The tabs on the panel are quite well held.

I'd trace the previous owner via V5 previous owner address and online directory enquires, give em a ring and ask them what button is for personally!

Can't wait to find out, it's exciting :eusa-whistle:

I reckon, there's a container under the back somewhere that opens when you press that switch, and your supposed to fill it with tyre shredders, just for those occasions when you just want to get away :law-policered:

Thanks guys with all the replies, with the colour matching and the detail gone into the button I thought it must have been stock but guess not, 1 owner and I brought via a car dealer so shouldn't be hard to find out was it is, I'll post when I hear more -- maybe a go faster button :eusa-think: --

Also I think the rattle is in the dash not the tearing wheel mount so I'll need to take that off if easy or again but to car dealer.

My guess is it's lighting too. Maybe the car was used as a "vehicle escort" and the owner wired in yellow or maybe blue strobe lights. Is there any strange bulbs in the bonnet or light cluster that you haven't figured out yet. Very curious.
I know that in some emergency service vehicles in Ireland that type of button was used for headlight flash function.
Or maybe it is to do with an extra alarm/tracker?
Keep us posted :eusa-whistle:

Re the extra button on your centre console, there was someone in our facebook group that fitted a strobe action to the rear fog light for track day use, and that is where he put the button, it may well be that very same car
