Need help!!! "Please"

Firstly I apologise if I have posted this in the wrong area!

My wife owns a 2009 207 1.6 SW and I have attempted to change the thermostat housing as the car thinks it is over heating when it is not..... (On my third temp sensor which has not fixed it, so decided to replace the housing).

Everything is in situ, but i am struggling on re-fitting the thermostat housing pipe clip (one which goes round the back of the top of the engine) to the water pump pipe. Is there a technique?

Should the clip push down vertically or push in at an angle?

I am now on about 6 hours try to fit the b!,&£stered thing!

Any advice would be greatly appreicated

Thank you

Sorry but there is not enough information, which engine as 1.6 is both petrol and diesel for the 207 sw, also various bhp as well?

This is for the 1.6 diesel 110 bhp

From what I can see this is a common layout for the 207 petrol and diesel.

The thermostat housing you have is VERY similar to the one on my RCZ 1.6THP and I have replaced it before. I can't help much except to say that you need to keep persevering and that if you are not sure that the clip is located correctly then it almost certainly won't be! When it clips into place you will feel that it has located correctly. It took me quite a bit of time as you can't see what you're doing even with a light and mirror and it's difficult manouvering the clip with your hand due to the limited space. Good luck.

The RCZ engine is basically the same as the Mini Cooper S and your thermostat housing is almost identical to my RCZ so the videos should help. Cheers. Bruce.
