KCRCZ@ Yes i agree with you.. When something in the engine gets worn out, just replace it with something bigger/better! haha.. also, where do you get your styling done? I've been thinking about some air vents too (the engine bay just gets too hot!). please please post pictures of the end result!

joaofisio@ yea, there's more tuning done in this post than some of the posts in the "Tuning & Modification" section combined together!

and yup I've used wheel spacers before (on an SUV only though).. made the handling much better (noticeable difference).. but maybe because it was on a vehicle with a higher COG..

Talking about hot engine bays, do you guys notice that if you leave the car stationary, you will hear this loud whirring fan sound ? Or after turning off the ignition and when leaving the car, a fan in the engine is still running ?

My mechanic told me it may be due to the small intercooler on the rcz but there are no aftermarket options available as yet hmm..

Btw this is my second week on the Liqui Moli Ceratec and the engine is significantly smoother on revving. Worth the S$70 spent !

Yes , modern TC cars are equipped with turbo timers to let the turbine slowly cool off after the engine has been switched off. I remembered back in the earlier days I had to fix timers and had fun with blow-off valve for my Daihatsu GTTi and Renault 5 GT Turbo. The sound was magnificent when you couple the open pod with blow-off. It's like a super whip sound ... Oooo tempted to do the same again...

yes i noticed the fan too... always thought the radiator fan keeps blowing cos our engine bays are too hot even after the engine is off! haha.. but feels good that the car is actually cooling itself down even after you turn it off..

bloodlegna@ where did you get your Liqui Moly? I'm thinking of trying some too! As for larger intercoolers, im guessing they might cause more turbo lag.. maybe one of those intercooler sprays would work!

KCRCZ@ have you finished styling your car? (excited)

Obicat@ collecting tomorrow... I m excited too ... Hope it will turn out fine.. Are you thinking of styling yours too.. Any idea for yours?

@obicat I did mine at http://horizonautotuners.com/ , workshop located at ubi, $70. They primarily do VW/Audi cars but the people there are nice !

@KCRCZ, cant wait for the new pics of your car ! IMO, the rcz could do with a spoiler/rear wing like the TTRS. It would make the rear look less round haha.

Bloodlegna@ well you can always add on, can always customize something. I m doing mine at stages, first budget second is to enjoy the improvement gradually.

KCRCZ@ Thanks for the styling workshop link! Am just thinking of getting exhaust vents for the hood, as I really cannot take it when it gets too hot! It just bugs me that all that heat in the engine bay heats up the air intake elements, resulting in higher intake temperatures.. (sorry, I know im weird)

bloodlegna@ thanks for the link! Will go check them out soon.. And you can start your appearance modding by changing your DRLs in your headlamps to LED (if you havn't already done so).. There's a long long thread in the "tuning & Modification" section about this!

Obicat@ Haha yea the DRLs in the headlamps were changed on day 1 of car ownership, could not stand the yellowish lights ! I am thinking of adding on a strip of DRLs but I am very afraid it would cheapen the car's image. Money may be better spent on HIDs instead haha. Hmm how about shielding the air intake area ?

bloodlegna@ ahh yes.. I just changed the DRLs to LED today.. happy with the result! yup.. not sure about the strip of LEDs near the bumper area.. like you mentioned, its a risk!
the air intake system runs from the front/side of the engine bay to the back/top of the engine and back to the front/side.. so there's plenty of time for the intake air to heat up! haha.. can't think of a way to shield it..
I tried removing the resonator and attaching a universal K&N cold air tube, but that increased turbo lag for me..

@obicat which LEDs did you order ? mmm, how bout the BMC intake kit from Espace, they were telling me its compatible with the rcz but details im not sure.

Got a reply from Bastuck, they are preparing a quad exhaust with rear valence cut insert ! Estimated to be done in november. Should be LTA compliant since majority of their exhausts are. Excited :)

@bloodlegna will even LTA approval void the warranty, have you asked the agent. just be careful on this issue.so between Ruffer, Supersprint and Bastuck , which is better?

@KCRCZ, I dont think ruffer is LTA approved and they do not have a dealer in SG. Supersprint is not a quad exhaust. My hope lies in Bastuck ! I will ask autofrance in greater details once the bastuck exhaust is in production, but I highly doubt the warranty of the whole car will be voided because of an exhaust modification.

Regarding the ultra-racing bars, I am tempted to install the middle brace to reduce chassis flex. Was quoted $215 by E-REV and warned that there is a risk of the bars scraping humps. Do you encounter such problems ?

Lastly, where are the pics of your newly designed car :)

@bloodlegna, well... whether it will scrape or not, i cant say it wont...that's why E-rev dont want to guarantee you as well, fearing such quotes will make them liable but so far i have been careful... if you lower the car its another story again, are you lowering the car ?

as for pictures, none yet.. customization in progress...you thinking of designing your car too?

Oh ya and true, about the warranty, the warranty don't cover the exhaust pipe anyway right..

@KCRCZ, Nope, I do not intend to lower the car so I guess i will just have to take extra care. I hope the centre brace itself is sufficient as I do not really see how the front and rear bars help !

Exterior modifications are lower down on my priority list for the moment, performance first !

Regarding exhaust warranty, i have to find out more

Hi guys, I bought 380LED11XPW-2 from www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk.. 5w white LEDs.. they match the stock Xenon's on the RCZ already.. about same brightness as stock yellow bulbs... but white.. thats all i want.. haha..

Also, the bastuck exhaust looks good! can't wait for it too...all things equal, seems like the bastuck would make more sense, as it is quadpipe, instead of the dualpipe supersprint..

I've asked autofrance before.. whatever you change on the car, they will not warranty aftermarket parts.. e.g., you change your exhaust and your engine blows up. They will provide warranty service for your entire engine PROVIDED they cannot prove that the engine blew up due to the aftermarket exhaust.

@obicat, I bought the same exact LEDs ! They are really bright and most important of all, pure white. The first LEDs that I bought were a little bluish zz

Maybe we can arrange a group buy for the bastuck when it comes out haha. Have you tuned the rcz yet ?
