My first RCZ. Need help!

3 weeks ago I picked up my 2011, 45k 1.6 petrol RCZ. I love the drive of the car and the looks are amazing (pearl white with black alloys) but I have been experiencing lots of smoke when the car is at tickover when warm. No warning lights and no driving issues as far as I can see. I have a theory as to what it is but thought I should check and see if anyone else has had anything similar. Was purchased from a dealer (not Peugeot) so I have a little bit of my 60 day warranty to go.

Only thing springs to mind and is only from previous experiences with other cars...

Smoke is usually a sign of oil burning which is usually found in high mileage cars with worn piston rings.

Though that doesn't tally with your specs.

Check all the levels, see if anything is low, but I would have it back to the dealer & express your concerns before the warranty runs out.

Thanks folks. My suspicion is that it is turbo oil seals. Dealer is notorious for denying claims so I was hoping it might have been a known issue. Not the end of the world but a disappointing start to owning this awesome car!

This is a really daft question but you are 100% sure its smoke ?

I only ask as both ours kick heaty steam out of the quads which can look like smoke in the rear view mirror.

Definitely. Plus it only does it when it is warm so it would not be condensation at that point. Dealer is taking it back for a week to investigate so fingers crossed

Wasn't expecting this. Head gasket, timing chain and water pump all to get swapped under warranty. :shock:

+1 result..... pleased for you, last thing you want is the hassle of a repair when just purchased, wish more dealers were as compliant as yours has turned out to be. :thumbup:
