Moving to the UK advice.

So I am looking at going over and working in the UK for at least 2 years in about 2 years time. So i figured I would find out what are the costs of UK living? Well that should say a current guestamation as things will change in those two years.

Just need a rough idea on how much should be budgeted in accomidation and food really. The bills should hopefully be close to what they are here. I wont need to live in the center of the city as travel to and from work does not bother me.

Also any links to good real estate websites and the such would be very handy. So I start to follow it so I have enough capital when I get over there.

I should add I be located in australia if that helps in anyway

.....going over and working in the UK.....

Ahhh, that's your first mistake

Come over and claim benefits and we'll pay YOU a fortune for sitting in the House that we've GIVEN you.
Sky TV and a MASSIVE TV to watch it on are guaranteed, as is around 4 Holidays abroad each year.

The UK is not known as a Soft-Touch Country for nothing you know.

Re-think your Strategy my friend ;)

Seriously though, you need to elaborate on where in the UK you may be residing to enable people to give you a realistic Guestimate as to possible living costs.

Is currently looking at Reading or in the commuter belt for Reading.

Funnily enough the reasons you say the UK is bad also happen here. Apart from that much rain fall but I love the rain)
We have so many people over here that dont work and live of government hand outs because they can, is the easiest way to own a house over here. Considering a shitty 1 bedroom flat here costs around $300,000 to $320,000. Considering that the RCZ brand new is $54,000 RRP might help to highlight how much that is. Or better yet a new BMW M3 is around $180,000 RRP.

Have you been to England before , if not you need to come and stay around the area you are thinking of living in for around 8 weeks in the winter months
you need to get a feel of the place and the life style dont class it as a holiday but a test to see if you like it here .
you love the rain because you dont get it like we do 4-5 weeks of rain and you will soon be on the plane back home to sunny oz
