Hi all,

I’ve got a non starting 2011 RCZ petrol. I noticed a missing relay (or an empty socket to be more specific). Hanging in front of the engine compartment fuse box, photos here.
Any clues as to what this serves? I have spent a few happy hours wading through Sedre with no joy. And spec of missing relay appreciated, as is all help.

Its not unusual to find an "empty" plug or socket - The wiring loom is standard throughout the range, including the wiring for features that are not present in your version of the RCZ.

The "non-starting" comment needs a bit more details, does the engine turn over but not fire - Is the battery charged, Is their fuel getting through etc.

Hi, it started and ran but not driven, had been off the road for a long time with front end nudge. It ran out of petrol whilst stationary testing, my bad, Hv put in 10 litres, spins over but now does not start. I’ve checked the small Schroeder (spelling?) valve on the fuel line, zero pressure. I was wondering if there’s a low pressure pump on tank that feeds the hp unit on engine? Battery good, fully charged, no economy mode. Hence thought re “missing” relay might be related as nudge was on that corner. Noted re some connections not used but then I’d expect it capped? It’s a very low mileage car - 34,000km or thereabouts, I suppose that’s about 20,000 miles.

There is a Low pressure pump in the tank with a suction strainer to filter the fuel going up the pipe it may be you have a vacuum in the fuel system if you ran it dry

If anyone has a 2011 RCZ 200 (ie petrol), non xenon, manual, can they take a look under the bonnet and see if anything is plugged into that connector in the photos? Just to rule this in/out? Cheers

Thanks Pedro appreciated. I fired up my manual and seems to say it can only be accessed by dropping out the fuel tank! I sincerely hope not but it’s the official PSA workshop manual so seems might be the case. Not great news if correct.

Yep its a bit of a pig when they bury parts inside a component or in the bodywork I always say though that if they can put it in then we can get it out again ! 😄👍

I have only ever heard of one owner tracing a fuel related problem to the pump in the fuel tank and I’m sure it was actually the filter that was full of crap.
Try a search on the forum I’m sure it was posted here.

Hi all - just to close this story re not starting after stood a long time - I dropped out fuel tank (note - didn’t need to move exhaust as per manual - just careful manoeuvring and it came free), pump was seized solid, gummed up with old fuel, changed pump for decent OEM unit, all back in and started first turn of the key.
