Yep when I first changed my coilovers on my other car, I was with one of the mainstream insurers, as soon as I told them they cancelled the policy - 5 days notice - bang. You then need to start looking at the specialist.

The reason it was cancelled was becuase it was lowered, more chance of damage.

I don't think the rules are that strict over here in The Netherlands. In Germany there is also no problem, as long as the lowering kit is TUV approved.

of course the other BIG issue is that the RCZ does not have fully independent suspension (i.e. McPherson's) but has a torsion beam rear suspension which makes any upgrade VERY expensive and also will seriously degrade handling and performance. A lowered suspension might look good but on the RCZ it would make it drive like a pig on skates and well...why bother with tyres the ride would be so harsh you may as well drive on the rims :) .

I am used to that in my Cooper S. The search for nice mods continues.

Actually if you look under the rear of your car you will see a set of springs and a conventional set of shocks, none of the sales info I've seen from Peugeot states torsion beam, it mentions trailing arm, deformable U shaped crossmember and hollow anti roll bar. :eusa-think:
