HELP.

I have a 200thp 2011 model which at lower revs (1000 to 2500rpm) drives very unevenly.

I have had the head fullt reconditioned along with the rings also by a lical specialist

The enging feels like it has flat spots in the lower rev range and even with minor throttle inputs it is just horrible to drive.

I have been advised that it is a normal characteristic of these engines, but i am struggling to believe that someone hasn't found a fix for what is a beautiful car.

Please if anyone knows who i can turn to to get this sorted thank you.

Same thing happens to me in my THP 156 so I’m guessing it’s a common problem with this family of engines, rather than either of our cars.

Mine runs super smooth at low revs, also in slow city traffic. Perhaps you have a problem with the high pressure petrol pump, a typical failure of these engines.

I don't recall my 200 being lumpy or running poorly at low speeds.
Could it be carbon build up? They can be prone to it due to the direct injection system.

Until my had an engine problem recently I never noticed anything but smooth through all revs in all gears also never heard of this issue until now so doubt it's a common problem.

Oh god I hope not, what mileage do these typically give out?

Before falling for some horror stories get the basics sorted in the first place.
Ignition coils, plugs. If they are OK, then move on to more expensive parts like the fuel pump (can be checked before replacement is required).
In Romania you will for sure find a garage which can do a camera check on the inlet for carbon built up without paying stupid high western garage rates.
Those engines run smoothly when maintained well.

Mine was repaired at 120000km a guy here in Spain repaired it for only €90. I removed and reinstall it myself.
It is easy to know if the pump fails via ODB2 connector monitoring fuel rail pressure

You only need a cheap Bluetooth OBD II Scanner ELM327 connector and a mobile free app like Torque,

The pressure must rise and always be maintained at 50 bar or more from 2-3 seconds after starting the engine. If it falls below even for a brief moment, then the pump is faulty.
