Low oil level warning

The display in the car is saying the oil is low & needs topping up, but the oil is reading ok on the dip stick. Any ideas

I had the same problem-except that it was reading ok for a few days then it it said it needed topping up then back to ok again. The dealer had it for a couple of days, were in touch with peugeot, replaced the oil level warning sensor and I got it back on 25/11/11. Still ok at the moment.

I topped mine up but it still came up with the low oil level warning. My wife used it for work the next morning & it said oil level ok & it's been ok since, touch wood

My oil never needed topping up-it was purely random but became more frequent. Hope yours is ok now.
