I read somewhere that Koni produce softer active smart dampers addressing this issue - any knowledge of these or similar? For heavier nose HDi (which they also address)

Then there are softer progressive rate springs

Would also try and fit soft walled 45s on existing 19s if inner arch liners have sufficient space behind to be recessed say 1/2" or so in contact areas

Hypothetical at this stage, but desperate need to address this alarming issue..

I think a specialist needs to address this issue as it will transform our beloveds.

I genuinely drive in terror of imminent damage on a second by second basis

I feel a specialist can easily come up with a cost effective solution involving springs, dampers, bushes and tyres (which can be much cheaper than the std specified ones due to higher profile)

Who do we have with knowledge and ability to address this?

If you sustain damage take photos of where it happened inform the council that you intend to pursue a claim get the car assessed by a friendly garage/MOT station if possible then ask Citizens advice about legal representation regarding your rights they will advise best way forward we should all be hammering these councils & Govt Road tax is going through the roof whilst we drive on bombsites smashing suspension parts to death its Basket Case Britain at its best

Indeed....however, my love of cars and ingrained mechanical sympathy + empathy doesnt allow me to drive at speed when I know there are a thousand potential disasters, just on the way to my local..

We need to find affordable mods - I have put in a suggestion / request to Pug1off.com of Brackley and waiting to see if they are interested in developing / bringing together progressive springs with smart Koni Advanced type dampers, buying in quantity, modifying arch liners for higher profile 245 tyres to provide significant sidewalls and fitting for us :)
