Sorry mate but you did start the nonsense and now you are throwing insults at other members opinions because you dissagree? This was the very reason you was upset about before! Wrapper has his opinions just like you do, just like i do and every other member, you can dissagree but insults not required. Peace out dude
 you and wrapper carry on liking each others post...whatever
Your very childish buddy, you keep liking posts when they say the prefer mk1s so thats the same.

Eh I think you'll find I haven't made one like in this topic, I did however say "good call" with regards to his future purchase, is that what you mean ? and what has my car got to do with any of this ? it's about being accused of sending viruses, you should read the full thing before just jumping in where it suits you. Anyway I'm off to work as I have better things to do than spend it arguing with another pest.

Arguing over each other's cars is stupid, and so is telling people that their opinions are wrong or dictated wholly by budget. I thought the point in an owners forum was to enjoy our cars and appreciate other members cars? Bit disappointing so far in that respect.

And don't worry about that wrapper, I certainly don't feel belittled by anything on here!

Anyway, hopefully this will get back on track and I'll report back once I have my RCZ sorted!

Worth reminding everyone this forum has the function of a foe list.

This, to some extent, allows you to avoid seeing what members on your personal foe list post. It doesn't stop you seeing any quotes of your foes that others post, but it's a start.

I can see that some might not like the idea of not seeing what others might (or might not) be saying 'behind your back', so it's up to you to choose.

Personally, I do use the foe list function - although there's only one member of that list at the moment.

It's also probably well worth the effort to review the forum rules and guidance.

If you feel personally attacked, abused, bullied etc., do not respond directly, report it to the Moderators.

Remember, they have the power (& responsibility) to ban offenders for various lengths of time, in accordance with the forum rules, and a third ban is permanent. They have the means also to stop real nasties reappearing under a different guise.

Many a time I have had to bite my tounge, so to speak, and not respond to various things that seem offensive, unjust or just plain spiteful, posted by various members. It's just not worth getting involved with these ingrates. They're generally slightly sociopathic and arguing with them is a complete waste of time - life's too short.

All I would say is, everyone's untitled to an opinion, just don't complain if everyone else thinks it's bollox.

I have never used the Foe list. I want to be able to see exactly what is being written, however, I think that if comments designed to create a reaction were totally ignored, that would actually have more effect than allowing yourself to be baited.

I know it would probably involve a lot of tongue biting, but I think that the outcome would be worth it. There is nothing worse than being ignored, but it only really works if everyone does it.

Remember everyone has their own opinion. It's just a shame that certain people try to impose that opinion on others, rather than simply expressing it, and then listening to other views.

Going back to this thread, my preference, as I have written, is for the Mk2 front, but I would have had a Mk1 when they came out if I'd had the money then.

I don't want to belittle anyone who prefers the Mk1, cos that's their choice, and I'm happy for them. As has been said many many times, the world would be a very boring place if we were all exactly the same.

Best of luck with your search SamF10, it's true that the Mk2 will probably be worth that bit more when you eventually change your car, but you should really buy a car cos it's what you want, not cos it might be worth a few more beer tokens when you sell it.

Let's face it, a Golf almost certainly holds its price better than an RCZ but who the f^<{ wants to drive round in a Golf :wtf:

(No Golf owners were harmed during the making of this post)

Ps. Bigmac, the R is an exception from the above comment

Fully endorse what's just been said.

Back to the thread, having owned both a mk1 gt 200 and now an R, I think personally, I prefer the new front end. This is mainly because I founde the Peugeot badge a bit ugly (and difficult to keep clean, which irritated me). The new one is much neater, in my opinion.

Having said that, I'd have probably bought the R if it had the 'old' from end. For me, it's the whole package.

For most of us, cost becomes an issue at some point - be it fuel, insurance, servicing, whatever. No one should be criticised for having to manage a budget.

Take me - I've got and R and I paid full dealer price for it when they went on sale last year. Some people would call me stupid but it was my choice. In an ideal world, I'd have several vehicles for different purposes but have neither the space nor dosh to have them.

If you've got your eye on a smart mk 1 gt156, SamF10, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Boy O Boy ! I still can't believe that after a year the same individual continues to disrupt and cause mayhem for the majority. How this has been allowed to carry on I will NEVER understand ! It totally ruins the experience of anyone who posts on here. It's a wonder the original poster hasn't said tatty bye by now having seen how some owners cause offence.

Anyway, to the original poster, the majority of us loved the RCZ since the day it was launched, Mk 1 grill and all !
Personally, I do prefer the facelifted front but the Mk 1 grill didn't stop me from jumping in with both feet and buying the great looking car that the RCZ is. Everyone likes different things so just go for what you, your budget and your heart feels is the right one for you.

I hope you find the right car for you in the very near future so you can experience what all we RCZ owners experience everytime we get behind the wheel of our RCZs

Pete, have to agree with you there. I have a MK1 and athough i still love the front end, I am beginning to like the look of the MK2 particularly the badge because my MK1 badge is looking a little tatty and lets the front of the car down a bit when its clean

It's not opinions that are the problem.

It's the arrogant self-serving way they are delivered.

Just my opinion, of course.

Tried both mk1 and mk2 today. Was pleased to find that a 5 year old mk1 with 50k miles on it didn't really feel any different to a mk2 with 7000 miles on it, always a good indication of quality. Was less impressed with the Pug main dealer which had sold the one I had arranged to view and not told me, but hey...

Only thing I didn't like was the rear space. I know it's not meant to be roomy in the back but didn't like the fact that the rear passenger's heads are on the back window.

Having said that, I really loved everything else, great car to drive and it's great value for money all things considered. Definitely after a mk1 dolpin blue gt 156. The hunt is on!

By the way, many thanks for the more positive responses - much appreciated!

Nice - best of luck with your search, Sam.

Best to consider the car as a 2 seater really. I got in the back of mine once for a laugh ...never again!!! lol

Yeah, I'm glad I won't be spending any time in the back! At the same time though I do like having the ability to have mates in the back. I guess I need shorter mates?!
