List your RCZ faults

Ron .. I understand what your saying and its fine once or twice, but it wears a bit thin after 20 times !!!!
Granted. But your short list does not suggest so many visits would be required or that any of them were major problems.

I have had huge problems with Main Dealers and have complained bitterly about them. They were no better with Peugeot and I continue to complain. The difference now is that Peugeot UK heard me complaining and accepted that I had something to complain about and acted. They arranged for a different dealership to look after my RCZ, and so far I cannot fault the service that I have had.

The only "fault" that I have had, was rusting brake discs. The dealer said that it was normal and took no action. Peugeot UK arranged for my car to be collected and new discs fitted. They are no longer rusty and Pearl2 looks gorgeous  They have helped me out in other ways too for which I am very grateful. I have a £32K+ car, that I love and will defend it to the end. It is on the whole an exceptional car within the sector that it sits and has the back up of the manufacturer that is second to none.

You have been very unfortunate, but I feel that if you wish to portray your experience as general, then I feel the need to offer up my experience, in order to balance the argument.

Very few RCZ owners are on this forum and very few forum members feel as you do. Therefore you are in the unfortunate minority and potential RCZ owners should have the option of a balanced considered view before making such a huge investment.

Agree... But you yourself have commented about how many people are now selling up !!!
The reason it takes so many trips to the dealer is firstly for them to diagnose the problem and get authorisation from Peugeot and then secondly take it back for the repair .... Like I say though I can't fault the dealer ... They have been great :)

Bejesus Jactac that's some list. By your description it sounds like alloy corrosion from your mirrors again. Do you garage your car overnight or is it stood out in the rain ?

Replace top suspension mounts at 9000 miles.
Renew drivers door electric mirror motor (creaking).
Replace locking wheel nut key, key broke in use.
Door hinge bolts worked loose, and door dropped, rectified by re tightening bolts.
All in a space of 9 months so not too bad but could be better

Yeah m8 its garaged most of the time, and even though it's faults sometimes p*ss me off I still look after it as if it was my first brandnew car,I basicaly wrap the car in cotton wool, therefor my "fault List" is purely down to poor quality/design/build and not the way I treat or use the car :?
In my opinion the RCZ is a car that has to be looked after otherwise visits to the dealers could be even more frequent.

To be honest I think my list is probably on par with some others on here, I've just looked at some of the other threads and it's ridiculous the amount of faults that keep adding to the list, some far worse than mine,
Yet you will find a few other owners saying we are "just moaners" using this site as a platform to "moan". Well if thats what it takes so be it , even if I sold the car on I would still "moan" about its faults from any platform I could find.
It's my right as an owner AND a consumer.

both wing mirrors groaning (both replaced)
fuel pump stopped working (replaced with courtesy car for 3 days, though it was a 107 :wtf: )
condensation in one of the wing mirrors (sorted)
when reversing driver mirror stays stationary and passenger goes up instead of down (ongoing)

Just as matter of interest, when I got my passenger wing mirror replaced it seemed like the entire wing mirror was changed (I was in hit and run day I took car in which scratched the paintwork and dented it something rotten) though when my driver one was changed it was same outer shell (identified thanks to a little scuff, thanks again carparks...) anyone know if the change of it is different?

Minor niggles (apart from Fuel Pump which caused a lot of problems) which I guess you can get with other cars, and has made me think about other cars but there aren't too many better looking cars that a 26 year old can afford to insure!

I had the whole casing, everything changed when I got my 2 wing mirrors replaced. Not had any problems since with them.

Thanks, I thought that too (was looking forward to getting rid of the little scratch) but they seem to have just changed the inside of it (as for now it has stopped groaning...whether they just added some wd40 only time will tell lol!)

- both wing mirrors replaced - Corroded
- all 4 hubs replaced Paid £100 toward this? - Rusty
- air intake hose collapses every time you shut the engine off with horrible groaning noise after - on going apparently not a fault
- all 4 wheels corroding - fobbed off saying its stone chips?
- spoiler creaky on rise & fall.
Heat shield around brakes came loose and rattling.
I've also noticed condensation in my lights under my mirrors.
All this from a car that has never spent a night out of my garage and I've thoroughly looked after with 25000 miles on the clock.
Thanks
Anyone want to buy an RCZ?

I joined the forum to get some idea about the RCZ. I am seriously considering buying an Asphalt, but hesitated after a bad experience with a Peugeot 206 GT some years ago. I am very sorry to read that some owners have had problems with their RCZ's, but as the current owner of a £70k Jaguar, I can tell you there are just as many complaints about annoying faults on their forum too. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion, especially if they've paid a lot of money for something, and been disappointed with it. However, it's evident from reading posts on many different car forums that people are always quicker to criticise than they are to praise. For every owner with a justifiable reason to complain, there are probably many others who are satisfied with their vehicle, and still more who aren't even aware that forums like this exist (perhaps they have had no reason to seek it out??) I am now in two minds about proceeding with the purchase of the RCZ, despite knowing that criticism comes easier than praise. Such is the power of forums like this, it could go some way to explaining why (like my Jaguar) the RCZ is still such a rare sight on our roads. It would be reassuring to hear from members who are entirely satisfied with their cars. to give a more balanced opinion. Sincere apologies to those with genuine grievances, and I certainly don't dispute concerns about individual cars. However, it is good to know both sides of every story, and it will help restore my confidence to hear some good things. Kind regards to all. Lee

That's a great referral, UNMARKED. We like to hear that. Seriously.

I've had mine for two days now. I'm not happy with the sound system, sad speakers for a premium car, and the steering wheel sits slightly off centre - that will take some getting used to.

That's my two 'faults'. Otherwise, out of the box, it's been an impressive machine so far.

As with every manufacturer there are bound to be faults no matter if you are paying 10,000 or 200,000 for the car. We all need to remember that cars are a collection of individual parts sourced from a number of different manufacturers and put together by humans / robots...this collaboration is never going to be 100% perfect every time...

I have just covered10,000km in Arsey and couldn't be happier..Arsey still feels like it did the day I drove out of the showroom and everything still works the way it should. Peugeot's build quality has come along way...our family is onto its 5th Pug (206CC,207CC,407HDI Touring,207 hatch & RCZ) and have covered over 350,000km across the 5 cars with no real issues (had a few early teathing issues with the 206CC ) but apart from this the cars have all been great...can't say the same for my 2010 Mercedes 250CGI that has spent more time in the service dept than I care to think about...
Hope you are all still enjoying your RCZ's...I know it puts a smile on my dial every time I turn the key in the ignition :)
