Limp mode

Hi all how do you know if your car is in limp mode

If it is in full limp mode it will be slow on acceleration & generally feel sluggish you usually also have a EML light to warn you the ECU has detected a system failure

Thanks Pedro it’s as you say but no warning lights or signs

If you are left for dead at the lights by a bog-standard 1 ltr Ford Fiesta... you're in limp mode!

Drive it a bit and it will usually sort itself out. The ECU has detected some sort of perceived fault and has decided to protect the engine by engaging limp mode. If the fault does not appear again in X amount of miles though, everything will be turned on once more for you.

Cheers 2retro last week it was sluggish and seemed to go back to normal then again this Friday and Saturday will wait and see when back to work Monday other than abs sensor a good 1st year ownership

Think of it as a palate cleanser. You've got used to the power and style of driving an RCZ now and it just wants to remind you how great it is and not to get cocky by showing you how lesser road users have to drive all the time!
