Ive had the code P2188 come up on my RCZ again!

Last October (2022) had the oil filter sensor changed, then 2 weeks later it went again, faulty sensor they said. Seems to be fixed now

Feb 2nd, limp mode again, this code came up P2188 OBD-11, my mechanic who i know and trust said this code could be anything and google the common fault and promptly changed a sensor. It seemed ok but still fell lumpy when accelerating hard! It seems to happen when stuck in traffic and im up down on the clutch and accelerator?? It went into limp mode again 27th Feb, but was back to normal on the 28th !!! Its now gone again and engine management light come on!!!!

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated??

What the P2188 code means. This particular trouble code means that a lean condition has been detected on bank 1 of the engine during idle. The ECM will attempt to correct the air-fuel ratio if the mixture becomes too lean. The ECM will adjust fuel injector pulse width and ignition timing to alter the air-fuel ratio.

Take plugs out check for any wet tips clean with a brass wire brush if available also remove the upstream Lambda (oxygen) sensor & thoroughly clean any soot off & carefully blow out the holes as this sensor sends the mixture data for air fuel to the ECU to adjust the timing for correct firing sequence

when I looked up the Pug code, says idle too rich......

Possible causes
– Leaking fuel pressure regulator
– Leaking fuel injector

Need to get someone who know's what they are doing with this engine, not a generic spannerman especially with 'this code could mean anything......' really?! Chap may continue to fit parts at your expense and has little to no clue what he is doing......there are mini/Peugeot Specialists in your area I would try them......fact he has tried to fix the same code before lends weight I think.

What the dealer won't tell you is Peugeot has installed a range of fuel leakage data programmed into the PCM this is to preconfigure which code will be stored on the amount of leakage detected
