Daughter had a flat battery on her car this morning, so i said not to worry, dad to the rescue. Pulled out my jump leads opened bonnet, and found i cd only access the positive terminal. negative,i presume is buried under large plastic cover, that looked like it took a lot of dismantling. Didnt bother as her boyfriend was on way over anyway. Any suggestions? is the cover easy to remove and replace, and why the hell have Peugeot boxed it in like that?

There is a metal post just to the side of the n/s/f headlight right behind the join line between bumper and bonnet.

This is the earth post to connect the negative jump lead to.

It is bad practice to directly connect 2 batteries together as it can lead to spikes that cook the ECU , turn on airbag lights etc.

All detailed in the owners book....page 165

Hmm yes i had seen that on page 168, but those diagrams presume that it is my RCZ that has a flat battery surely. it says connect jump lead to negative terminal of SLAVE battery, which of course you cant reach??? or have i got it wrong?

Works exactly the same if yours is the good battery trying to start a duff one.
