Now moving on to the 5th week with no car and no contact from the dealers since the 8th!! I did expect a delay as the work that is being carried out is quite the large job.
But at least I have the salesman wanting me to buy the new model RCZ with an initial one off cost which I had just the one reply............
Why would I want to invest further in an unreliable car that has been going in and out of the garage for repair, that has not been running as it should of since the 1st year I drove it away?
Now having the head replaced as by the looks of the carbon build up, the engine has had this fault for some time and this isn’t even guaranteeing that it will fix the fault permanently!!
Lets just say a nice letter has gone to Peugeot now as I am fed up of the whole thing now!
Patience was well and truly tested but has now GONE!
We are having exactly the same issue with our beloved RCZ!
Only difference here is that on Thursday morning my partner was coming to a stop at a set of traffic lights, the revs dropped to about 500 rpm the engine shuddered, then the revs shot up to near red line and pushed the car through the intersection! The dash then lit up like a Christmas tree with all mater or warning, and alarms.
It all happened so quickly that my partner managed to get it into Neutral as the car came to a stop.
Just very lucky that there was nobody coming through the intersection at the time!
"Limped home" to the Peugeot dealer we bought it from, they really didn't seem to fazed by the whole situation until we literally spelt it out to them.. "The car just launched into a intersection!"
After much debate we were finally sent off with a courtesy car off the lot.
I contacted Peugeot Customer care here in Australia who just palmed us back off to the Dealer..
1 day later the dealer called to say that "yeah, the error codes indicate the engine was misfiring, so we cleaned some spark plugs and put some additive into the fuel and cleared out the errors. But apart from that there is nothing wrong with the car.."
However they would not provide us a copy of the 5 or 6 pages of 'job notes' on the car, as they are "internal documents only".
We received a pretty meaningless summary on the customer invoice/job sheet (all covered under warranty)
Surprise, surprise not 2 minutes out of the dealer the car starts shuddering and dropping revs again.
Attached the Go-Pro over the weekend to capture exactly what is happening and dropped it back off to the dealer again this morning.
The other issue we reported last week was the "Automatic headlamp adjustment faulty" which happens intermittently but does not appear to effect the headlights at all. As they still adjust when steering.
While we absolutely love our RCZ, for a, $60,000, 6 month old "halo car", this kind of thing really shouldn't be happening. Or at least the customer service provided should be absolutely 5 star!
I would be really interested to hear the results of your issue rchalmers83, or from anyone else who has experienced this issue.
