Sorry disagree, in fact i found that the base was awsome, even before i played around with features. Turning on the "loud" feature made an hell of a difference to the base.
However i'm not sure if this is because i have the NG4 media center and not the standard cd player. Also i believe that the NG4 has a graphic equaliser feature, don't know if the standard audio equipment has this ?

I have the standard system - loud option on makes an big difference. Combine this with the EQ on Rock (Or Techno for even more bass), and up the bass and treble settings to 5 or 6 and the sound is immense!

If it's the JBL, it's crystal clear, I use no EQ because it just makes music way more ''artificial''. I just use bass level on 5 and treble on 4, loudness option ON. My head unit is an RD4 I think.

I don't think that I have "loud" option or "EQ" but my standard media centre version is fantastic. I love the sound I get from it. Would be interesting to know if the same system that is in the sat naav version is the same as in the non sat nav. Anybody know ?

If you're talking about speakers and sub, then there should not be any difference at all.

No there's not, I thought you guys had the option to choose both JBL speakers+sub set to use with RD4 or Nav radio
