Jack & Wheelbrace?

So, possibly another stupid question, but my GT200 Mk2 has one of those yellow thingies in the boot instead of a spare.

What it doesn't have is a Jack & Wheelbrace.

Is it supposed to have these? The handbook just lists everything, spare wheel, inflation kit, jack, handle, Wheelbrace, and then says not all models will have all these things :shock:

So I don't know whether to get onto the garage and ask where my jack is, or if that will just make me look stupid :wtf:

Anyone got a Mk2 GT 200 and did it come with Jack etc?

None came with a jack mrk1 or mrk2 sport or gt 156 or 200

So, there you go then, stupid is what stupid does, and I would have looked it if I had phoned asking where my missing Jack was :wtf:

Guess I won't be taking any wheels off in the near future :auto-car:

no spare wheel and no jack neither. Many member here have resorted to purchasing a spare wheel and tyre off ebay and it will fit in the wheel well. Me, i didn't bother. i have a spare tyre and if I go on long journeys I take it with me. Just home from a 1400 mile trip round france and never needed it.

My last car was a Megane CC which we had from new for 7 years. Did 67000 miles, and that came with 2 aerosol tyre repair cans. Only ever used one about a year ago, so I'm not too concerned at the lack of a spare, but I would have liked to be able to take the odd wheel off for a bit of serious alloy cleaning or calliper painting etc. might have to invest in a trolley Jack unless anyone has a spare one they don't want :?:

Which ever jack you decide to use (scissor or trolley), always bear in mind that the RCZ's jacking points and sills are made from preformed paper-mache by 8 year old French school children . :roll:

Personally, after owning and repairing cars all my life I feel that correct placement of a jack is the key to a safe lift rather than adapting an existing jack.
I did find out after almost 3 years of owning and safely lifting my Z on a regular basis that it is so easy to damage the sills by simply rushing and losing concentration and not placing the jack in a good lifting point.
Basically on this one occasion I rushed in and used the so called jacking points instead of the usual front wishbone or rear springs to do a quick lift, hence slight damage to the sill :thumbdown:

I've learnt from that mistake to now always stick with the front wishbone or rear spring to do any lifting. :thumbup:

Cheers Jactac, I have read that thread & seen the horrendous photos, I think you were being a little unkind to paper mâché to be honest. It really is a shame that Peugeot can't resolve the few recurring issues on what otherwise is surely one of the best cars on the road (bias).

I may just wait until it needs lifting and get some professional to do it after warning him I will be holding him responsible for any damage to the paper thin sills.
