its coming & here's how I did it

Hi all, so after the advice received I did some more work on my cunning RCZ plan, gradually destroyed the missus counter arguments ( and ignoring the ones about space for the kids in the back - hell that's what the 308SW is for ) and did the deal with my local main dealer. albeit not quite what I suggested on the advice thread.
So 10 days from now 3000 negligible miles diesel GT in mercury grey, stock alloys, black leather, uprated sound for a lot lot less than brand new IS MINE. :p :p :p Oh yes after so much waiting and hoping I'm so happy I swear I may be growing a second d**k. Actually I may need it to pacify her when it turns up because she thinks its not coming till December !! ho ho
Here's the tip for those of you thinking about taking the plunge....
Went onto car wow (carwow.co.uk) and specified what I wanted..exactly . Dealers then bid back to me various offers from interesting to bloody hell that's cheap. Then took the bloody hell that's cheap deal to my local dealer in Worcester and said you've got 24 hours to do better or I'm buying that from the them in West Yorkshire ( also main dealer) Hey presto they could get me exactly what I wanted with naff all miles ready in two weeks rather than three months factory order..RESULT.
I know I could have driven a harder bargain , and I know that my dealer is making a fat margin on the interdealer transfer price but I don't care. I don't have to mess about going over to Yorkshire from here in the sunlit shire of Pershore and my dealer is doing all the leg work for me.
So to my fellow RCZ owners in Pershore yes that you in white New Street and you in Nera Black in Farleigh Road and to the sultry brunette in Dolphin Blue who parks in High street every Saturday morning there's a mercury grey coming to town....

Looks like you've got a bargain there, well done. Looking forward to seeing your pics.

Btw do you think that would work for me with a set of quads :eusa-think:

Fraid not I reckon its simple hard bargaining for the Quads...fancy those myself but if I get some slapped on they'll bugger up all my lovely warranties won't they?

You probably have a point there, but they do look the dogs wobbly bits though.

P.s. Don't mention warranties to the wife, cos that's yet another reason why I cant have quads. :eusa-think:

yep fair point. my missus is going to have a fit when the RCZ turns up and the green goddess ( 307 HDI estate) is missing. But too late... she gets the 308 SW and I get to grin every time I have to drive anywhere. happy days.
I thought I might approach my dealer to see if they would sanction the quads as an approved aftermarket item. Or else agree that thy aren't covered bu the rest is on the basis that it actually dilutes their risk a bit. nothing ventured....

It does yes.

More noticeable over a certain speed (depends on severity of rain). But you get the beading on the other windows like well waxed bodywork, and once moving, the rain runs off really well.

I am using Diamond Bright window treatment at the moment, as I got it in an aftercare pack. Very similar to Rain X. I assume they all have the same ingredients. :eusa-think:

Speak with RCZ1 (Kerry) for the best advice on any car treatments, including glass protection. I am sure she will be able to recommend a better product, although probably more expensive too. :eusa-whistle:

Not quite. They'll affect the warranty only on parts relating directly to the modification.

I've heard great things about car wow and even used them when looking for a RCZ R.

Enjoy the Z when it arrives.

On the subject of Rain X, I use Gtechniq G1 which lasts up to 20000 miles or 2 years. For me it's the best product ever. Application has to be followed to the letter but it's worth it.

Clean Your Car would probably be your best bet. I can't think of anyone whose currently got offers on at the moment.

Put a couple of requests on CarWow to see how it works and what they come back with... Just got an offer for an new RCZ-R £26.1k for a new one in Moroccan Red with JBL speaker and front parking sensor upgrades (vs £33.4k RRP!) from Dew's Peugeot, Halifax. Cracking offer I think! Shame I'm not ready to swap just yet though... :eusa-think:
