I got halfway through the job. Looks like they do need polished like paint and not treated like plastic.

I did end up using a heavier compound than Ultimate Compound. I still need to finish them, but other priorities have popped up.

Do they not use this engine in the current 308 GTI along with the transmission an breaks

Basically yes. But there some differences between that R engine in 308 and in the RCZ. Therefore Peugeot has to keep both versions on stock. We will see by when the engines for the RCZ R will run out.
