Sounds great...you probably already have more knowledge about the marque and models than 99% of their staff!! Good luck!!

Good luck, I know you will have 100% more knowledge if the interview was up here but then I'd be telling you not too bother ;)

Yes good luck my son is a car salesman he's only 21 he went into a ford showroom one day and came out with a car and a job  He is a bit of a charmer as they say you need a Edge on something to be good at anything and the 3 most important things that a car saleman needs is drive and banter and a warm personality

Good luck for to tomorrow. As the others have said, you have a head start because you have the necessary knowledge on Peugeot cars. Let us know how you get on :)

I agree you need the right banter and personality to be able to sell cars but knowledge of the cars you are selling (or any product) is paramount in my book.

In that case I would be the best car salesman in the world  but in ernest its a cut throat business in that you cant trust no one especially fellow salesman

All the best for tomorrow. As an former salesman and then manager, I would say that product knowledge for me was everything. If you can talk about the product with confidence, then it gives confidence to the buyer. We buy from people that we like. If you think the salesman is an idiot who knows nowt, then you will not be prepared to give him your business. So product knowledge and personality were the things that I sought out when interviewing candidates. If they had the right personality I knew that I could give them the knowledge. Knowledge also comes from experience and so with your past record of Peugeot ownership, I feel that you would certainly have the edge on me as I know nowt about the Peugeot range. So go and give it your best shot

I agree with Starky, called in my local dealer the other day and asked the salesman when the new RCZ would be arriving, he said it's over there in the window, it was the outgoing model!! Fills you with confidence!

Oh dear... :( A dealership is only as good as its staff and that obvious lack of knowledge is worrying.

That is really good news. I wish you every success. Knowledge is an important factor as you have discovered and you have owned enough Peugeots to establish worthwhile knowledge.

Lets us know when you get the call for the second interview and we can again keep our fingers crossed for you

Well done Jason. Hope all goes well in second interview. As has already been said knowledge goes a long way. I just accept now that my dealer knows very little about the product he is selling (RCZ wise anyways). To go into a dealership and be dealt with by someone who knows about the cars he is selling in depth would make a refreshing change.
