Insurance result

When i phoned lv up to tell them i had had quads fitted i was charged a one off payment of £75.Now after writting a slightly nasty email pointing out that out of 10 companys i phoned only 2 charged extra and of the other 8 5 were cheaper per year so i am looking to stop my insurance forthwith .... lv reply sorry for inconveniance refunded back to card the full £75... i never checked any others but they didnt know that lol

Well, you tackled it differently to how I would have, but you got the right result :thumbup: It should not have been charged in the first place.

You've got to play insurance companies at their own game. That's exactly what I did and got a result, just like you :)

You've got to play insurance companies at their own game. That's exactly what I did and got a result, just like you :)
I simply told the truth and got the same result.

I simply told the truth and got the same result.

Sorry, I did actually ring other insurance companies to get quotes before getting in touch with LVE to renew my policy when they told me they wanted to charge me extra for the leather. I was honest but you do have to play re game with insurance companies otherwise they will rip you off :)

I think it's always worth challenging companies on their quotes regardless of the service provided. This week I was quoted a renewal fee of £75.44 to restart my AA cover (after postponing it for a year having a year's "free" cover with Peugeot). I mentioned my concerns about loyal members footing the bill for new members who are being offered an introductory rate of £38 and the RAC offering an online price of £29. Within moments of suggesting I would leave I was given a new quote of £31. They get away with it because they are so rarely challenged. Good for you! :thumbup:
