Bov's are for chavs and dont belong on diesels anyway, induction kits are for people who want to draw hot air from the engine bay into the engine and reduce power.

Fix, fit a decent panel filter and inform your insurance co.
Dont fit a "bov".

I am a bit if a chav tbh as im only 18 and saved up since i got my first job when i was 16 for this car so really i bought it for its show and looks.

I thought induction kits you have a tube from the front bumper directing cold air towards the filter cone this way when your driving its ramming cold air into it and not just sucking warm air in from the engine bay??

Also suppliers make bov for the petrol version of the rcz ??

Dude, it's your car so you can do whatever you want to it ...but why would you want to make an RCZ sound like an Impreza FFS?! :crazy:

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Do you hear Audi TT's / R8's, Porsches or other sports coupés making that ridiculous boom-tish sound? Of course not because it's stupid.

You'll be having it wrapped in neon green and adding gold alloys next...

Induction kits, over hyped especially at this level of tune, a decent panel filter will be far more efficient but like any modification YOU have to declare it to your insurance company when you fit it, for what it gives you, its not going to be worth it.

Bov, blow of valve, dump valve etc, pretty useless, all it does is dump the gasses and stalls the turbo, the one thing you dont want to do is stall the turbo, you need the gasses to be recirculated back through the turbo so you reduce the turbo lag.

As mods go, neither one is useful to you and both will increase your insurance (plus having a bov on a diesel really does make you look like a real tw@t)

These cars look great as they are, if you want to mod anything then hang a set of furry dice from the mirror and put leopard seat covers on )

Actually I could have written a 2 page spread on how bad BOV's are, as they are so effective they are fitted to every turbocharged petrol car as standard (note petrol car), this is because they make a nice whooooosh sound and reduce turbo lag (well according to those who manufacture them, in reality they increase lag and cause issues with over fuelling).

1. There is not 1 manufacturer that fits a BOV as standard (as they reduce wear and decrease turbo lag they must all be wrong :roll: )

2. Even those rally teams running turbocharged cars don't fit them

3. Diesel turbo tuning is totally different than petrol turbo tuning, what works with one doesn't necessarily work with another.

4. Going into work tonight there was some kid in his corsa with a BOV, oooooh you could hear the lag when it "dumped" to atmosphere, it sounded painful with a good couple of seconds before the boost built back up....
