The heater in mine is really quite good, certainly compared with my ex (Megane CC) I think it takes @ 5-8 minutes to get a decent blast of heat from it, like Abzinthe said, it's quicker if your driving.
Strangely enough, I get the cooling fan kicking in when it's still putting out cool air in the cab :eusa-think:

Does the aircon put out hot air?

My 1995 peugeot 405 did. I use to drive to Manchester with it on hot all the way there (mostly in winter, but occasionally in the British summer as well).

I presume so as its climate control and when you have it on auto you cant have the air con off. No matter what temp.

The Megane used to put out warm air from the aircon until we eventually had a new compressor fitted, Icy Blasts from then on...... The heater was never that good though :eusa-think:

Seems to take mine about 10 minutes - which seems rather poor.

Had a Triumph Spitfire a few years ago - it heated almost instantaneously, never had a car since to rival that.
Good old British Leyland...!

My old MG ZS and Honda HR-V were/are both at full temp after 1 mile. My better half's Golf and my RCZ both take around 5 miles.

The temp gauge in the RCZ isn't a true analogue one, it's under the control of the ECU as anyone with the faulty temp sensor who's seen it fly up to max and down again in a split second can testify. Maybe the RCZ does genuinely take a long time, but I do wonder if the gauge is artificially 'held back' as a warning not to work the engine too hard until it's thoroughly warmed up right throughout the entire system.
