Hi everyone, I'm new to owning a rcz and have had a problem after just 40 miles of owning the car (2011 156hp petrol with 22000 on clock).used Ok for 2 days then on third car started juddering with lack of power like running on 3 cylinders and engine management lights came on also cooling fan (engine wasn't even warm) turned it off and called garage restarted it to take it in and all was Ok apart from engine management lights. back to dealer and was told one of the ignition coils was wrong type and burnt out spark plug, 4 new coils and spark plugs later another 40 miles and sane again anyone else had a problem similar to this? Cheers lee

Hi Lee, I'm sure I've read recently of someone else on here having an issue with coils. Can't remember who it was.

Thanks for replys, Funny thing is someone had replaced one of the coils with a different make (bosch) perhaps to overcome coils failure, peugeot blamed this coil as the fault and changed them all but car has now done it again. Booked in for tomorrow so will see what they say, will post results

Car still in garage but was told before coils were changed the car had 3 fault codes stored, after new coils now only 1 fault code but will not tell me what it is and they can't replicate fault today so keeping it in for another day

Hi all,
Went to garage to see if car was ready and was told and shown a printout they have found the fuel rail pressure sensor was reporting low pressure for a few micro seconds but enough for cpu to close a cylinder down, actual fuel pressure measured correct throughout. New one ordered hopefully in and fitted tomorrow

Hi
Just had my car back after 4 days but Peugeot agreed to replace my fuel filter even though my warranty was up in Dec as a good will gesture as this problem had been ongoing since August but they could not find what the problem was Thank you Peugeot head office for paying my bill £510.00. but when it came back to me it had a lovely scratch on the bumper so back to them to sort it out. Hope full that this has sorted my problem driving much better now.

No, that would be on exhaust side, this is an inherent feature of direct injection engines. The buildup on intake valaves get so bad that they actually dont close properly. Symptoms are poor performance, rough idle, high fuel consumption and misfire.

Its actually brilliant that peugeot start recognising this as a serious problem. Will make it easy for future diagnosis and repairs

Update, Cars now been in garage longer than I've owned it, had new coils, spark plugs, fuel rail pressure sensor and top engine strip down for major decoke (which luckily peugeot paid for at £1100 as only just out of warranty by a few weeks) now they are going to change the high pressure fuel pump so hopefully it will be sorted at last as I've seen a few posts saying there problems were sorted once pump was changed
