Hi there everyone I'm looking at getting a RCZ this year 🙂 besides the obvious , all gears work all buttons function and reg checks for stolen etc. What should I be looking out for that needs doing or wears out if I look at one please? Thanks for any help in advance 🙂

Good choice if your doing high mileage the engine is a good performer if there is a good service history with the car all the better
The car could have generic issues like jacking points distorted 3rd brake light LEDs blown water in boot well (Rare) but can happen badly worn brake pads & discs any type of suspension knock on the front end as early models suffered with strut mount bearing issues coolant leak problems accompanied with Temp sensor failures its usually the thermostat tank which fails but is easily repaired but check the condition of the expansion tank & Antifreeze if its cloudy may mean its had overheating issues
Door handles/ window switches & mirror control switches /front seats if heated make sure they work & can be adjusted properly if they are electronic as they may have memory recognition?
Heater blower & air con check the full range of hot & cold controls as the heater matrixes can fail over time
Check lights wipers controls & Audio system see if its had any upgrades like sat nav etc
Check if its been chipped or had the decat deleted as this will cause MOT failures & engine emission issues look for sooty build up in the exhaust tips?
Wheels & Tyres if badly worn or heavily scuffed rims may point to car being badly driven or in layman's terms "Thrashed"
Check condition of engine pay attention to overall cleanliness & around the cylinder head area look for oil vapour residues check all the visible hoses if you immediately smell diesel fumes these could mean filter/service well overdue issue take out the dipstick if the oil runs off like water then it needs a oil service !
Lastly try & see the car with a cold engine if possible this way when its started stand at the rear & observe the exhaust if it blows out a lot of black smoke it could mean the injectors are badly worn test drive it & rev it through the gears & watch to see any smoke on acceleration
Good luck & happy hunting

Diesel has a cambelt rather than a timing chain so make sure in any history it has been changed at the required interval. Believe it's at 10 years or 120,000 miles. They usually recommend water pump done at the same time.

You can ask the dealer/seller if its been serviced by Peugeot as they will have a complete History of what's been repaired & replaced like Richk has said if it needs a cambelt make sure they change the water pump as well otherwise if you have pump problems later they will need to strip it again to get the pump out so its important to let them know you want the job done to avoid any further cost's
Normally nearly every garage will supply a years MOT & also check there are no chips or visible scratches on any of the windows
Make sure there is puncture repair kit with the car & if the tyre repair foam inflation canister is still in date if in doubt ask them to check & replace if necessary its worth considering buying a space saver spare wheel as the puncture repair kit is to say the least hopelessly inadequate
