I'm happy to say I'm one of the 6% who've gone for Dolphin Blue with Frisson Leather, also Lighting Pack - so it'll be in the minority! At least on hear anyway looking at the poll.
Also having the car waxed and the leather scotchguarded.
Hi Dave - its not actually a wax they apply, its a sealant. Its supposed to last for 3 years but I can't for the life of me see how it will last that long. A top end wax £3,000 or more would even struggle to do that. The paintwork needs to be prepared properly first before it is applied otherwise it won't protect as it "supposed to".
Before I knew about detailing, I had something similar applied to my current car when I bought it. It lasted about a month before I removed it. The paintwork had not been prepared properly beforehand. There were dried water marks underneath the sealant everywhere - it was a mess. Now my car looks a hundred times better than the day it came out of the showroom.
Waxing your car every 2-4 months, depening on which wax you go for and your wash regime would be time and money better spent and provide better protection of your pride and joy.
I would really really recommend getting a detailer to do your car for you rather than get the dealer to put their sealant on it - and it is cheaper !
