This was inspired by the recent thread where someone was looking for a part and was pointed towards the Mini, since it also has the Prince engine. It got me thinking...if I ever need parts for mine, how easy is it going to be to find spares?

So I had a look at the Kiwi carjam site. Along with a lot of other very useful stuff, this will give you a filterable list of models registered by year. Turns out that there are a grand total of 151 RCZs of all flavours in NZ, out of a total worldwide sales of 67916 units if Wikipedia is correct. So we have just 0.2% of the worldwide fleet and I think I can confidently say that sourcing parts isn't going to be either cheap or easy.

Does the UK have an equivalent public dataset, and if so how many RCZs have you got?

I'm surprised there are that many here!

This website shows how many cars are registered on the road and how many are SORN. SORN means Statutory Off Road Notification.

You would have to do your sums to add all the RCZ versions together to see how many were registered, currently in use, or no longer in existence.

It's a good website.

To my genuine astonishment I've just seen two white ones in central Napier (and they both had personalised plates so I know it wasn't the same car twice) in the ten minutes it took me to walk up town and get my lunch.

What are the chances?

Pretty remote! There is a white one I see in Waikanae occasionally.

Actually that could be mine. The guy I bought it off lives in Hastings but has whanau in Wellington and used it mostly for zipping between the two. If you haven't seen it for a while...I might be able to explain that.
