Holiday in Devon

Last Saturday I travelled down to Devon with the grandchildren. The weather was rubbish and at times I was doing 30mph on the M5:

On the way we visited a friend of mine who has just moved near to Barnstaple. I had to go down a newly tarmaced single track road - I can hear RCZ1 groaning. But I had no choice!
Arrived at the house we were staying in for a week and it was rather windy. The 2 gazebos in the garden were flapping around and I had visions of them taking off and crashing into the car:

Settled down for the night and unpacked the car.
Next morning was lovely so a trip to the beach was planned. I looked out the window and the owner of the main property had the cement mixer out and running - yep you've guessed it - right near to the car:

So we have spent an amazing week in Devon - and we have all thoroughly enjoyed it. The car is filthy, full of sand and needs a good clean and polish. We didn't see another RCZ while we were there - apart from the 2 in the Peugeot showroom!
I have been following the forum whilst there and have been put off by so many negative comments.

I'd just like to say that I adore my car. Love driving it. Love the look of it. Yes, so it's had a problem. But the renewed "high" that I have got from driving it this last week.................. I find hard to put into words :D

Blimey, that was quite some escapade wasn't it. Not only the road tar but the cement mixer as well, not to mention the imminent danger of the gazebos blowing into your car - I would have thought about going to stay in a B&B somewhere else ;) lol

I love Devon/Cornwall. It's a couple of years since we've been. We usually stay around the Helford River and we absolutely love it. It's truly gorgeous :). So photogenic too. I usually end up taking hundreds of photographs.

Anyway, sounds like you all had a great time and that the love for your RCZ is still alive and very much ignited :)
