Welcome to the R club. You will love it :)

Just watch out for that harsh pull to the left under heavy accelerating. It takes you by surprise the first time :)

You have to choose your roads well when you want to push it hard. It tram lines badly so on some country roads, if you accelerate hard, it wants to pull you into the ditch. I had a goon right on my tail one night on such a road and it was narrow. Tried to put my foot down but the tyres were stuck on the tram line of the road before tugging harsh to the left. Had to back off the accelerator as I thought I'd had it !

Have many tried an alternate tyre? It's a lot of power going through those wheels but better rubber should reduce that tramline effect. Also, dare I say it, more gradual and progressive acceleration. ;)

The VXR has similar traits but upgraded tyres made a huge difference. The original Pirelli P-Zeros were useless and also perished (all had to be replaced and Pirelli eventually coughed up 60% of the replacement cost). I also rapidly realised that I needed to adapt my driving style and accelerate more progressively in order to go faster. I wonder if the R is similar.

To the OP, that's a belter. They look SO good in black.

This particular road is quite bad for tramlining. The same used to happen in the other RCZs. I'm still continuing to learn all the traits of the R. Only 2 months into ownership so early days yet. It still continues to surprise, in good ways too :)

It is a lot about adapting your driving style as its a different kettle of fish to the other 2 Zs. It's actually very rare that I put my foot to the floor hard these days. As you say, it is more progressive. I find if you accelerate hard, it just baits others to try and race you. Much like the Peugeot 607 that felt the need to race me today except he wanted to do 80mph in a 60 !
