Hi just bought an RCZ-R on a 64 plate with 9000 miles on it
Traded in my jeep Cherokee which I've had for years
Bit of a mid life crisis but what the hell
Got a good deal I think so I'm happy
Even the wife liked it ...in fact it was a toss up between the R or a 370z and she plumped for the R which suited me

Can anyone tell me what upgrades ( aftermarket ) will suit the R

Cheers

Ps it's Moroccan Red

Welcome to the R club, would you mind if I asked you what you paid for it ?
My R is the same but only 4500 miles on it, not many upgrades out there more like little tweaks.

Hi TAC
Thanks for the reply
I gave £19000 for it from a dealers with 2 services thrown in
And they gave me a good price for my jeep
Haven't driven an R yet as they only had a 156 GT in the showroom near me which I thought was a nice car but when they said they had an R in the dealers about 30 miles away I had to have it so looking forward to picking it up

Welcome to the R club!

I've done over 40.000 miles on my R so far. And the ODO doesnt stop there :)

Honestly you don't "need" any tweaks to that motor. Unless you go with it on a race track and push the very limit. Then I'd suggest to put some brace struts underneath. But everything else cope nicely with the pace of the car, be it the suspension (easily up to the limited 155mph), the steering and especially the brakes. Finally a sports car under 30k where I don't need to bother a single thought about the brakes and the need to "improve" them.

It will be a shock to swap those cars  But one with a good result

Btw :greetings-wavingblue: Welcome :text-welcomewave: great choice of car - much better mpg that the Nissan, and if you have only driven a 156, watch out for the speed cameras cos you are gonna fly in an R

Hi

You paid £19k for an R with 9k miles on the clock from a Pug dealer?? Was that after he took your trade in off the price??if not that was a bloody good deal. I am picking one up this week with 2.8k on the clock and I paid £22k. Looking online the cheapest out there was £21k with about 9k on it.

My dealer was moaning saying how much he lost on my car as they had it as a demo. In fact he reminds me overtime I speak to him! So you did well, if it was £19k before trade in.

Jezzzz, well I'm well jealous. i found a black one up Stafford way for £21k and all the others were £24 upwards so I thought I had a good deal as I got mine down from over £24k.

So tomorrow is collection day, so no sleep for you tonight with excitement???

I have till Saturday to wait all being well.

Oh I know that feeling all too well. Mine is been delayed by solicitors that haven't released cash to me yet. Mine is due Saturday but I have a feeling it's going to be Christmas Eve at this rate.

I share your frustrations! I'm itching to get mine.

NO!!!!!

i rang the dealer about 5 times eventually he took my call
he said sorry been off since sunday was going to ring you today - nice of him
theres been a problem with your car in that its been sold to someone else !!!!!!
as it was coming from a dealer up north down to my dealer apparently in between saturday and me paying a deposit and saturday afternoon someone had come in and bought it up there too
im no solicitor i said but surely if you took the deposit that secures the car ??????
apparently not
as they were then avoiding transport fees his offer was deemed better than mine so that was that

im F******* gutted

very sorry he says BLAH BLAH do pop in and get your deposit back - hmmm no i thought you could keep it as a gift for outstanding service - NOT
anyway id had my eye on one in surrey - 64 plate in white - few more miles 12000 for £18000
so got in the jeep drove to small dealers in back of beyond surrey
had a look and bought it ....its nice not as nice as the other one but hey
anyway they are getting it prepped (whatever the hell that means and ive asked for some lacquer coat to be put on £350 )
guy says you can pick it up monday
i say cant mate im away till Xmas eve
so now it looks like Santa will be dropping the flaming thing off at my door on Xmas Eve
thought it was all going a bit too smoothly
im not going to let it spoil my enjoyment of my R though

Noooooooo! I'd be p******, as I'm sure you are.

What makes that whole story worse is that seeing as the other dealer sold it on the Saturday and they let you know on the day of delivery!?? Thats taking the biscuit.

Well you need to start buying everyones car for them as you seem to be able to purchase R's cheaper than anyone else! Stoneacre had a black one for sale, up for £20995 but you could probably secure it for £12k with your haggling skills. From memory the mileage was approx 9k.

Lets see a picture of the white when you get it. R's are rare, white R's even rarer.

Any consolation, my dealer told me to ring him by today latest to confirm my Saturday pick up. Also happens to be his day off and even the sales manager couldn't be bothered to call me back. Is this a Peugeot thing?????

Dont worry about the mileage. Those engines in the R get better the higher the mileage is.
