I'm just about to complete purchase on a launch edition this Saturday. I ended up paying what they listed it at (£14,000) which stings a bit if I am honest but it's only done 28,000 and is in reasonable nick (bodywork perfect, bit of wear on the leather of drivers seat and brakes are a little worn).

I'm in a similar position in that I don't really know what it was worth being the special edition but overall I think I am happy as the dealers (not a Pug dealers mind) is chucking in a few things plus taking my current car at a decent price...

Good luck with your search!

Hi Karina_26 :greetings-wavingblue:

..do I detect that you have a certain liking of lil 'Dani Pedrosa' as you can't slip that number '26' with its Repsol colour background past a MotoGP fanatic without him noticing on the Forum back benches !!

You didn't mention what extras the dealer was throwing in BUT make sure it includes a suitable level of Warranty cover i.e. Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) and check out its level of cover rather than just taking their word for it purely so in the unfortunate event of a fault you are suitably covered. Enjoy the car and the impending 2015 MotoGP championship

Hi I've owned my launch edition for 8 months now and paid 13k for it with 17k miles on it which I think was a good deal. There have been 2 launch editions on sale through eBay within the last few months one at £12500 and one at 15k. But with only 36 of them in the UK they're rare so it's a matter of finding one for sale.
Price wise it looks like insurance companies value them as the same as a GT. but with all the extras eg. Carbon roof carbon mirror covers sat nav etc you would have well over 2k worth of extras.
On another note if you find one check that the timing chain/ tensioner has been done as mine needed this after only 17k miles!

Good luck!

Aha! Clearly a man of truly impeccable taste then!

I do indeed have a bit of a soft spot for lil old Dani.. I live in eternal hope that the gods will someday be kind and just once let him be the bride instead of always the bridesmaid  (Although if I am feeling particularly patriotic then I'm a Scott Redding kinda gal..). Not particularly a Vale fan but hope he can give Marc a run for his money, 2015 is set to be a good one. Sucks that we won't get to go to Donington now though :(

Extras are two new tyres, new mats, 12 months MOT and warranty (but not sure what that includes yet). I'll bear in mind what you say about MBI, thanks :)

I'm afraid that like you I think Dani s moment passed him by in those seasons when he was just about the best on his day on clearly the best bike but he had that terrible habit of falling off and breaking bits off himself on a regular basis!

More a Vale fan who by most measures is the "GOAT" but agree its a shame Dani doesn't seem like he will ever get a season together in the same way that the Kentucky Kid won his title not by really being the best just by getting round on a consistent basis

2007 (I think?) was about his best bet when he was leading the championship until he smashed himself up in Germany after being silly out front in the torrential rain :| His chances of winning now are slim at best but I can still live in denial :D

To get back on topic, I wonder if RCZdream ever found that Limited Edition? I now have mine (and I LOVE her!) but she needs shining up so I can get some decent piccies! I think she was perhaps a little over priced but the happy feelings I get driving (or just looking at) it make me forget about that and I'm glad I got the special edition :)

Glad to hear you got your launch edition Karina, remember the launch edition cost €35,000 new so I think you could expect to pay a little more than a GT price plus how many owners can say they own one of only 36 cars in the UK!

Hope you enjoy your car!

PS what's your ltd edition number on yours?

Yes I do appreciate that and like the exclusivity of owning one. I have got so many comments on how good it looks! :) She's number 85.

Hi everyone. I am totally new to the RCZ and found it funny that i was just scrolling through this forum and saw my car mentioned ( the one with the link to hempstead motor co) yes it was expensive but thats what you get with a ltd edition. The car is the launch edt no 118/200 and im totally in love with it. Amazed at the looks. Its like owning my own supercar but at a fraction of the cost.

A quick question. Does anyone else have a problem with the engine being noisy for the first 4/5 minutes of running from cold.

Im glad i have joined the forum and will be a regular visiter.

I'd say that that would depend massively on condition and mileage. There's one here for example but it's significantly overpriced in my opinion.

Hi mate. As i just posted below ( im new to RCZ and this forum) i was tickled to see you mentioning the car i just bought. Probably a bit over priced but where can you find another. Its 118/200 and i love it. Jason

Hi Jason

Congratz on your Launch Z! Mine seems okay to be honest but in my endless hours of internet research before buying her, I did come across a few reports of people saying the same about all Zs.. I'm not sure if it's true though as, like I say, mine seems fine.
