Well RCZ1, I love ruby and I enjoyed reading your blog too :) I decided to switch back to the original alloys afterwards. The spirit grey didn't look that much darker so I saved the £220. I'm sure when the car comes there will be plenty of other things I can spend it on.

Thanks for all your help and thanks everyone for the welcome messages :)

Thanks for your kind comments

Pleased we managed to save you £220. I'm sure there are plenty of things you can spend that money on elsewhere and your RCZ will look just as stunning :)

Can I ask, when you ordered Ruby did you opt for the Interior sports kit: Soft touch leather steering wheel and sports gear lever. I know it's standard on the GT but is an option on the Sport. I read somewhere that the steering wheel is slightly smaller?

Yes I did. I didn't have it on my first RCZ but I would certainly recommend it. The steering wheel is smaller with the sports pack and the difference is HUGE. It may only be millimetres smaller but in actual fact, the difference is staggering. You don't realise how big the standard wheel is until you drive one with the smaller wheel.

You also get a nice acoustic interior exhaust note too with the sports pack, which when you rev hard is quite nice and sporty ;)

Well on the advice of RCZ1 I opted for the sports pack. I also stuck with the standard original wheels due to the fact I really had no idea what the dark grey or spirit grey were going to be like. I was so close to having the black arches but wasn't sure what they would look like on the Pearl white with the standard wheels. So my final order was:

RCZ 2.0 HDI 163 Sport
Pearl white
18" original wheels
Half leather
sports pack

Order has been submitted, so a long wait now until September 1st. :(

The Black arches look amazing on both White and Moroccan Red (only two that I have seen them on) several photographs on here that you could have viewed.

I saw the black arches on the one in the showroom. If i'm honest they look like they would be much easier to take care of. Most of the silver arches seem to have the water marks on them. If I could have had the option of the solstice black onyx wheels i would have gone with the black arches, but the original 18" wheels were a little greyer than expected and wasn't sure how they would look with those wheels and the pearl white. I nearly changed altogether and copied RCZ1 with the red and black arches cos it looks so good. I'm sat here now wondering if I should ring the dealer a bit quick and go for the black arches or even the full black pack. I've never found choosing a car so difficult lol.

I don't like the Black wheels. If they were standard it would look so much better in my eyes. I would choose Black arches over chrome every time because again I'm not keen on the Chrome. I went for Champagne only option at the time. It looks great and is very very rare.

I agree, I don't like the black wheel on the image above. Just trying to imagine what the above car would look like with the original alloys on, same as RCZ1 has on hers. Honest the sales guy is going to be so fed up of me :eusa-think:

I love it. Exactly what I wanted, but the wheels were not an option on the sport :(

I think I'm gonna change again and go with the black pack. If only I could see that car with the original alloys. Maybe I need to do a bit of photoshop editing lol

Ritchie, I think the car would still look fab with the black arches and the Original 18" wheels, even if you go with the full black pack. I'm not a fan of black alloys so much prefer a touch of chrome (wheels) against the black accessories. The black arches make the car look even sleeker in my opinion.

Thanks RCZ1. I've changed to the black arches. Just the arches and not the complete black pack. Hope it looks ok :eusa-think:

I personally think you've done the right thing. The standard alloys and the little bit of chrome on the grill all ties in nicely. You will have one stunning car with the gorgeous pearl white paint to boot
