Hi all, need advice please.

Hello everyone  , i've been registered for quite a while now and this is my first post as i've potentially seen an RCZ that I like (been looking for a year) but need some advice as the car has 'issues'. Something just doesn't feel right with it.

It's this car,

http://usedcars.peugeot.co.uk/RCZ/1.6-T ... 2UVsvldXe9 with only 8000 miles. Registered November 2011.

I managed to get them down to £15250 from £16.750 this was with a 2 year warranty service and PDI (more negotiation required as I feel that it is still overpriced).

Firstly I test drove it and loved it but....the dreaded 'check coolant level' was beeping at me throughout the test drive, pretty slap dash really for a dealer to have not fixed it prior to presenting it on the forecourt. I got the salesman to look up if there were any issues with the timing chain and it came back as a no.

The car was an ex Peugeot company car, which according to the salesman was bought from a closed 'Peugeot auction' so god knows how much they paid for it.

Also the bodywork was rotten and in dire need of cleaning, again pretty shoddy for a dealer.

The car has come from Liverpool (judging by the numberplate pre-fix), not sure if this is an issue.

But my biggest concern were the swirl marks that every panel had (including the roof), which, when in the sunlight were very apparent, even though it was an Opal white car :-x And me being very very anal in this regard I would have to pay for someone to correct the paint at my cost.

My gut instinct is to let this one slide at this price, unless they come down more.

They have been calling me all afternoon so in my view are chasing for a sale, which is good in my view.

Opinions please ladies and gentlemen if you may, and thank you kindly in advance.

Edit: perhaps this one hasn't chosen me?

Buy mine instead! Also located in Kent.

That's poor the temp sensor was on, it's a well known issue on the 200 however. Sounds like this isn't the one for you and there are plenty to choose from!

Brought mine 8 weeks ago, 7100 miles 200thp April 2011 from Peugeot in Darlington.

I paid £14,500 for it ex Peugeot managers car.

I would say yours is well over priced, tell them thank you but no thank you and look else where

What are you looking to replace it with Dan?

Incidentally, I don't think that that's too bad price. Is it a face lifted version or the mk 1? I traded in a 2012 registered 62 with 16.5k mile GT with everything detailed in my signature for £14.3(ish)k after all.

New job for me come June, so company car (sighs)...

Oh...you don't sound terribly excited by that. However, a new job DOES sound exciting. Congratulations on the new position and good luck with it!

I paid £14500 for my 11 plate 200gt with a tad over 8000mls on it, clean and tidy with no marks on the paint or alloys.
I'd walk away.

I thought the ex Management cars were all prepared at Northampton and thus had a "K" prefix. I know that was the case with my 2 508's, indeed I recall the 1st one made specific reference to the Preparation Centre.

This is doing my nut in, i've been looking for absolutely ages and haven't found the right RCZ yet.

The are either overpriced, high mileage or in shoddy condition.

I think I need to increase my budget for the right one.
