Hello everyone  , i've been registered for quite a while now and this is my first post as i've potentially seen an RCZ that I like (been looking for a year) but need some advice as the car has 'issues'. Something just doesn't feel right with it.
It's this car,
http://usedcars.peugeot.co.uk/RCZ/1.6-T ... 2UVsvldXe9 with only 8000 miles. Registered November 2011.
I managed to get them down to £15250 from £16.750 this was with a 2 year warranty service and PDI (more negotiation required as I feel that it is still overpriced).
Firstly I test drove it and loved it but....the dreaded 'check coolant level' was beeping at me throughout the test drive, pretty slap dash really for a dealer to have not fixed it prior to presenting it on the forecourt. I got the salesman to look up if there were any issues with the timing chain and it came back as a no.
The car was an ex Peugeot company car, which according to the salesman was bought from a closed 'Peugeot auction' so god knows how much they paid for it.
Also the bodywork was rotten and in dire need of cleaning, again pretty shoddy for a dealer.
The car has come from Liverpool (judging by the numberplate pre-fix), not sure if this is an issue.
But my biggest concern were the swirl marks that every panel had (including the roof), which, when in the sunlight were very apparent, even though it was an Opal white car :-x And me being very very anal in this regard I would have to pay for someone to correct the paint at my cost.
My gut instinct is to let this one slide at this price, unless they come down more.
They have been calling me all afternoon so in my view are chasing for a sale, which is good in my view.
Opinions please ladies and gentlemen if you may, and thank you kindly in advance.
Edit: perhaps this one hasn't chosen me?
